Okay, so the developers of Tower of Fantasy, Hotta Studio, finally addressed all the drama going on. Players, including myself, noticed some things in the game that looked like they might be AI-generated, and we were pretty upset. Now they’re responding to those accusations, which is a good first step, honestly.
Fans quickly reacted with criticism after noticing some strange details in the game and its advertising.
I’ve been seeing some chatter online about this game. One thing people pointed out is a scene that looked really similar to a beautiful shot from the anime movie Weathering with You. And then someone else noticed a weird glitch in one of the in-game TV ads – the frames seemed all messed up and distorted. It’s definitely got people talking!
The situation became even more problematic when VTuber Ironmouse announced she was ending her partnership with the game. She stated she had been told the project didn’t use any AI before agreeing to the sponsorship.
The developers of NTE have responded to recent criticism by admitting they used some AI tools to help create the game.
NTE devs reveal AI use
I was really happy to hear back from the team! They said my feedback means a lot, which is awesome. It turns out Neverness to Everness is all about human creativity – the characters, the story, and the whole world are made by real artists, writers, and designers. They did mention they used AI for a few smaller parts of the game’s development, but it sounds like the core of it is still made by people, which is great to hear.
The game’s characters and main story weren’t created using AI; AI tools were only used for some minor background details and scenery, according to a recent statement.
We’re currently updating the assets you pointed out – ‘Clear Skies in Summer’ and ‘Pink Paws Heist’. Your feedback is really helping us improve the game, so please keep sharing your thoughts! We appreciate your input and are dedicated to making this the best game it can be.
Dear Appraisers,
Thank you for your feedback – we truly appreciate it.
Neverness to Everness is a world crafted by human creativity. The characters, stories, and environments you encounter are the result of the hard work of artists, writers, and designers. While we used AI tools, they were limited to assisting with only a small portion of the background elements.

The discussion about using artificial intelligence in games, anime, and manga is getting more intense. Just recently, in January, a manga created by AI became very popular, even reaching the top of the charts on a major Japanese ebook platform.
Last year, a video game company gained attention for asking job applicants to draw during their interviews, as a way to determine if they were using artificial intelligence to create their artwork.
