A technology company announced it’s developing a hat that can read thoughts and perform actions, such as typing, on behalf of the person wearing it.
Smart technology has made a lot of progress in recent years, making daily life easier. For example, some modern refrigerators use artificial intelligence to help you keep track of what’s inside – they can even remind you when you’re running out of something or when food is about to expire.
I’ve been seeing a lot of cool tech lately, like smart glasses that let you ask questions and control things around your home – it’s pretty amazing! But honestly, I’m still waiting for the future The Jetsons predicted. Where are the flying cars and teleportation devices? Those haven’t quite taken off yet!
A new startup is making waves in wearable technology with a hat that can reportedly read your thoughts.
Sabi Cap is designed to read the mind of wearers
Okay, so I just read this wild thing – there’s a company called Sabi, out of Palo Alto, that’s building a beanie that can actually read your thoughts and turn them into text! Seriously, a thought-reading beanie. I can’t wait to see how this works.
The Sabi Cap is covered with 100,000 sensors that measure your brain’s electrical activity and convert it into data an AI can use.
I was reading in Wired that the AI has been trained with a huge amount of data – 100,000 hours of it! Apparently, 100 volunteers contributed to building the dataset it learned from, which is pretty amazing.
The hat’s design hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s expected to be released sometime in 2026.

Okay, so it’s not like I’m the first one messing around with brain-computer interfaces. Neuralink, that company Elon Musk is involved with, has actually made the most progress so far – they’re definitely the ones to watch in this space.
Rather than wearing a device like a hat, a Neuralink chip is surgically implanted, enabling patients to control their bodies with their thoughts. This technology has already helped individuals with paralysis play games like Chess and video games, offering them renewed optimism about what’s possible.
It’s still uncertain whether the Sabi cap will be released soon. We’ll only be able to evaluate its performance once it’s available.
