Halo 2 and 3 remakes “definitely happening” according to leak

According to a recent leak, Halo Studios is reportedly working on remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3, though both projects are still in the initial phases of development.

Halo: Combat Evolved is being completely rebuilt for today’s gaming consoles. This remake of the original Halo, starring Master Chief, is scheduled to release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in late 2026.

It seems Halo Studios isn’t just making one new game; recent information suggests they’re also planning similar remakes of the next two games in the series.

Remakes of Halo 2 and 3 are in early development, leak claims

Reliable Halo insider Rebs Gaming says he’s heard from sources at the studio that remakes of the original Halo trilogy are confirmed and in active development, though work is still in the early stages.

He confirmed that the remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3 are already planned and won’t be affected by how well the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved does. He also mentioned that the Combat Evolved remake will include content from later games, like the Brutes, as a preview of what players can expect in the future.

The first Halo game launched the series to success, but the two sequels are just as popular. Halo 2 was innovative, allowing players to experience the story from the perspectives of both Master Chief and a Covenant Arbiter. Halo 3, meanwhile, is celebrated as one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time, largely due to its incredibly versatile Forge map editor.

Both remakes will only include the story modes, but players will likely enjoy revisiting these beloved campaigns.
