As a seasoned crypto investor with a keen eye for detail and a long memory, I must admit that the ongoing saga between Martin Shkreli and PleasrDAO has been nothing short of fascinating – or perhaps infuriating, depending on one’s perspective. The latest twist in this tale leaves me questioning the credibility of ‘Pharma Bro,’ who seems to have a knack for finding himself embroiled in controversy.

Martin Shkreli was unable to persuade PleasrDAO that he had given away all replicas he created of the unique Wu-Tang Clan album, as his past remarks about keeping copies in safes and sending them to females raised doubts.

Martin Shkreli, also known as ‘Pharma Bro,’ is facing criticism once more due to an ongoing lawsuit by PleasrDAO. In this instance, PleasrDAO has labeled Shkreli’s assertions about owning every copy of the unique Wu-Tang Clan album ‘Once Upon a Time in Shaolin’ as false or misleading.

As stated in PleasrDAO’s filing, the court instructed Shkreli to secure and hand over all versions of the Album or its contents to his defense lawyers, as well as to sign an affidavit declaring that he no longer holds any copies, in any format, of the Album or its components. By the set deadline, Shkreli submitted 15 tracks from the album he had stored on Microsoft One Drive via a USB stick to the office of PleasrDAO’s defense team.

In a different take, the on-chain community doubts that Martin Shkreli has fully surrendered all copies, as they find his statements about hidden reserves in storage facilities unclear. The filing further states that Mr. Shkreli hinted at multiple secret stashes of the album worldwide, while providing no concrete details regarding the reasons for not searching all storage locations during his imprisonment.

Additionally, the documentation made clear references to a previous pharmaceutical executive boasting about creating duplicates of the album and sharing them widely. Reportedly, he had stated, “You know, I copied that album and sent it to around 50 women, don’t you?

PleasrDAO Acquired the Album From the Shkreli’s Asset Liquidation Process

In June, PleasrDAO filed a lawsuit against Martin Shkreli for streaming an owned copy of the album to his online audience. Prior to his imprisonment for securities fraud, Shkreli was the owner; however, his assets, including the album, were confiscated and sold off by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) during this time. PleasrDAO purchased the album during these liquidation proceedings. Now, they are offering parts of the album as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
