‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Stars Reveal Their Dream Cameo

As a big fan of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, I was really interested to hear what Emily Osment and Montana Jordan had to say at Los Angeles Comic Con. It turns out they both have the same dream guest star in mind-and it’s not anyone you’d expect from the Big Bang Theory world! Osment told MovieWeb exclusively that her biggest wish would be to share a scene with country music icon Dolly Parton. I have to say, that’s a fantastic pick!

“I would love to have Dolly Parton on the show…We haven’t met Mandy’s grandma yet.”

Jordan quickly agreed, playfully suggesting that if Dolly Parton, the singer of “Jolene”, was ever on set with them, he might try to capture her scent in a bottle “so I can smell it from here on out.” This led Osment to jokingly respond, “She smells like magnolias!”

Other actors on the show also shared what guest appearances they’d like to see happen. Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones – who play Mandy’s parents, Jim and Audrey McCallister – both expressed a desire to see former cast members from Young Sheldon, particularly Melissa Peterman, well-known for playing Brenda Sparks.

“I am really hoping that Brenda Sparks makes an appearance and becomes a big part of Audrey’s life. I think that could be really funny to have them play off of each other.” – Rachel Bay Jones

Sasso also expressed his desire for more dream sequences featuring Lance Barber, who portrayed George Cooper Sr. in the episode “Typhoid Georgie.” Although Barber was a main cast member in Young Sheldon, his character died of a heart attack during the show’s last season.

I was reading an interview with Dougie Baldwin, who plays Connor McCallister, and he mentioned how cool it would be to have the original Sheldon, Jim Parsons, make an appearance in the series. He admitted they’d just need to figure out a way to make it fit. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. Apparently, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is set over 10 years before Big Bang Theory even started, so Baldwin said it just “wouldn’t work with the timeline.”

One ‘Young Sheldon’ Star Probably Won’t Appear on the Show

It’s more probable that Young Sheldon actor Iain Armitage might appear as a guest on Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage than Jim Parsons, but fans shouldn’t expect it. In a recent conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Raegan Revord – who plays Sheldon’s witty twin sister, Missy, on both shows – explained that adding Sheldon to the series could be difficult because of his complex dynamic with his older brother.

I think, given that they’re staying true to the backstory established in The Big Bang Theory – specifically, the strained relationship between Georgie and Sheldon after George’s death – it wouldn’t really make sense for Sheldon to reappear. However, you never know. They’ve found ways around things before, found loopholes, and maybe they’ll do so again.

Regarding Armitage, he shared with ET last year that he was “always” open to being on the show, should they require him to “fill in” for an episode.
