This highly anticipated version will feature popular character banners that have been eagerly awaited. Previous leaks hinted at which 5-star units might return during this update, as well as the number of characters expected. The latest official Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5 livestream confirmed some of these rumors, bringing joy to players.
Characters in the game Honkai: Star Rail typically come with a single banner that runs concurrently, which features a character previously released. This allows both new and veteran players to obtain these characters if they didn’t get them during their initial release. Notably, leakers who are well-known in the Honkai: Star Rail community predicted three rerun characters for Version 2.5, and their predictions were accurate, even down to the specific units that would be included. As per the official live stream for this update, Feixiao will appear alongside banners featuring Robin, Kafka, and Black Swan. Additionally, players can draw Topaz and Numby in the second half, along with a new 5-star unit named Lingsha.
Synergy and Team Compositions for Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.5’s Limited Banners
HoYoverse often reintroduces characters about six months after their initial debut. Not only that, but they also think about how well these older characters work together when releasing them alongside newer ones. This approach is evident in the Version 2.5 banners, as the characters appear to complement each other’s abilities quite nicely.
Feixiao’s Follow-Up Attack Team
Feixiao, much like any competent commander, thrives on leading from the forefront. This elite 5-Star Hunt unit retaliates swiftly and forcefully following each ally’s assault, a response she maintains even after deploying her special ability. She accumulates one ultimate charge for every two ally attacks, which she can utilize to inflict heavy damage on health points and resilience using her gun blade or battle axe. Consequently, Feixiao prefers allies who attack frequently or assist in increasing her own attack rate.
- Robin is the perfect support to rerun with Feixiao, as she offers big damage buffs with her skill and teamwide action advance and ATK increase using her ultimate.
- Topaz and Numby is a synergistic sub-DPS unit for Feixiao. Her skill inflicts a target with “Proof of Debt,” which increases follow-up attack damage by up to 50%. Her summon, Numby does follow-up attacks on enemies, and their action is advanced every time an ally launches a follow-up attack on an enemy with Proof of Debt. She buffs Feixiao’s damage, and in turn, the general lets Numby attack more often.
- Lingsha also has a summon that deals follow-up damage to all enemies while healing all allies and dispelling one debuff. Meanwhile, her ultimate inflicts “Befog,” which increases the break damage taken by enemies. These traits boost Feixiao’s ability to break enemy weaknesses while also keeping her in good shape with cleanses and heals.
- Moze is a 4-star Hunt character with a talent that lets him disappear from the battlefield, only resurfacing to deal big follow-up damage when allies attack his marked prey three times. Meanwhile, his ultimate deals damage while also activating his own follow-up attack. He can stand as a sub-DPS to Feixiao, as his multiple attacking opportunities can enable the general to get her ultimate stacks faster.
Kafka’s DOT Team
In a simplified manner, Kafka has the ability to inflict damage gradually over time with her skills and ultimate, positioning her as one of the strongest Damage Per Second (DPS) characters in the game. Her second rerun is scheduled for Version 2.5, and she will be accompanied by her top-tier sub-DPS and support units during this run.
- Black Swan is the perfect partner for Kafka, as her skill has a 100% chance of inflicting the Arcana DOT on an opponent, which deals up to 240% of her ATK with every tick. This debuff also stacks, dealing more damage and DEF shred to enemies. Kafka can detonate Black Swan’s DOTs at will using the former’s skill and ultimate, leading to massive burst damage.
- Robin is a great support for Kafka and Black Swan because of her damage and attack buffs. Her action advancing ultimate just gives the Kafka-Black Swan duo even more opportunities to apply DOTs and delete enemy HP bars.
