Police in Spanish Fort, Alabama have arrested a man nicknamed the “TikTok Trickster” after searching for him for two years.
Alabama police had nicknamed 57-year-old Brenton Fillers the “TikTok Trickster” because he was accused of using TikTok to scam women out of their money and belongings, according to Fox10.
In 2023, he stole a car from a woman named Tricia. He initially connected with her on TikTok, pretending to be someone named Jason Mitchell, and they eventually met in person, spending several days together. He then took her car, falsely claiming he was going to get it fixed.
The repeat offender is back in jail in Alabama, following an arrest in North Carolina.
Police capture TikTok Trickster after two-year hunt
As reported by Fox10, the 57-year-old man was brought to Alabama in April after being arrested in North Carolina in January. He’s been charged with illegally possessing a credit card and stealing property.
Investigators think Fillers has used many different names across several states for decades, and has been using social media to find his targets.
A woman from Indiana, who met him on Tinder in 2025, said he’s very talented. She shared that she had sent him over $30,000 and even allowed him to live with her.

Fillers’ bond has been set at $7,500, with his arraignment set for June.
Police argue he’s likely to flee if released, so they’re asking the court to raise his bail. Currently, his bail is set at $100,000 in North Carolina, according to the NYPost.
Korean streamer Johnny Somali is facing a difficult situation in jail after challenging his initial six-month sentence. The appeals process could keep him incarcerated for at least another year, and reports suggest the conditions are even harsher than those in the work camp he was originally sentenced to.
Somali’s case isn’t over. Prosecutors, despite initially asking for a three-year prison sentence, have appealed the decision.
