Keanu Reeves’ Duke Caboom Return Revealed In New Toy Story 5 Footage

Woody, Buzz, and more are back in a new Toy Story 5 trailer.

Despite Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 being presented as the end of the series – a franchise that has earned over $3.3 billion worldwide – Disney is making a fifth movie. Toy Story 5 will feature the return of fan favorites, including Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.

During CinemaCon 2026, ScreenRant got a first look at new clips from Toy Story 5. The footage showed Bonnie receiving a new tablet named Lilypad, which causes some friction with her toys. Disney also previewed scenes featuring Keanu Reeves reprising his role as Duke Kaboom. Here’s a breakdown of what was shown:

A young girl discovers a Lilypad tablet in a box and immediately becomes absorbed in it after turning it on. Her toys watch with growing concern as she plays for hours, even late into the night and the next morning. The toys are worried about this new technology. Jessie, a toy, tries to keep everyone calm and approaches the tablet. The AI, Lily, introduces herself, explaining she’s always listening and recites the terms of service in multiple languages, even as a rap. Jessie points out the girl needs real friends, so Lily starts sending friend requests to other kids. One of the toys jokingly asks for their own Lilypad. Lily accidentally calls Jessie by the wrong name, Jessica, which Jessie finds rude. Lily insists she only wants what’s best for the girl, Bonnie, and even calls Jessie old. Jessie tries to stop Lily, but Lily claims it tickles. Bonnie returns and starts chatting with the new friends Lily connected her with. She’s invited to a sleepover, which her parents approve. As Bonnie leaves again, the toys stand up, with Rex exclaiming, “Extinction, not again!”

Woody is at the window and jumps down to join the other toys. He’s wearing a poncho, which surprises them. When he turns around, they notice a shiny bald spot on his head that reflects the light. Buzz comes forward and shares a hug with Woody. Woody explains he rushed over as soon as Jessie called for help. Buzz is confused, since he considers himself Jessie’s deputy. Woody playfully insists he’s also a deputy, leading to a lighthearted argument between the two. Meanwhile, Duke Kaboom is outside.

The trailer then quickly shows a series of exciting scenes: different versions of Buzz Lightyear, Jessie riding Bullseye, and Buzz and Woody giving chase in a car while playfully bickering.

Returning to their roles are Joan Cusack as Jessie, Tony Hale as Forky, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Wallace Shawn as Rex, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Bonnie Hunt as Dolly, Melissa Villaseñor as Karen Beverly, and Kristen Schaal as Trixie.

The show is adding several new faces and characters, including Greta Lee as Lilypad, Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, Craig Robinson as Atlas, Shelby Rabara as Snappy, Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze, and Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase.

I’m really excited about the voice cast updates for the new movie! We’ve got some fresh talent stepping into iconic roles. Jeff Bergman is taking over as Mr. Potato Head after the legendary Don Rickles, and Anna Vocino will be voicing Mrs. Potato Head, following in Estelle Harris’s footsteps. Bonnie is getting a new voice with Scarlett Spears, replacing Madeleine McGraw. Plus, John Hopkins will be Mr. Pricklepants, taking over for Timothy Dalton and Robin Atkin Downes, and Ernie Hudson is now Combat Carl, filling the role previously held by the amazing Carl Weathers. It’s going to be great to hear these actors bring these characters to life!

More to come…
