Fans are still eagerly awaiting news about The Elder Scrolls 6. With the release of Bethesda’s Starfield, many are speculating about what the next installment in the fantasy series – and particularly the region of Hammerfell – might look like. It’s been eight years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was originally announced, and details about the game remain scarce.
Over the last eight years, Bethesda released Starfield, and Amazon created a very popular live-action Fallout TV show. While Starfield came out in 2023 and was a large-scale project, it hasn’t captured the same excitement as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Many players are eagerly awaiting news about The Elder Scrolls 6, but Bethesda hasn’t revealed much about its progress. The game’s location is still a mystery, though many fans believe Hammerfell will be the central setting.
Gamers Eagerly Waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6 Are Using Starfield to Predict Possible Hammerfell Landscapes
I was checking out the Starfield subreddit and saw this cool post by sirferrell. They shared some screenshots from the game, and honestly, they look exactly like what I’m picturing for Hammerfell in The Elder Scrolls 6! There were these awesome red, rocky mountains, deserts, and even areas with palm trees and water. It totally fits what we know about Hammerfell – a mix of desert and more tropical areas. It’s got a real Mediterranean feel, and if they pull that off in Elder Scrolls 6, the map could be incredibly varied and beautiful.
It’s reasonable to look at Starfield to imagine how The Elder Scrolls 6 might appear. Since Starfield was made with Bethesda’s Creation Engine 2, and The Elder Scrolls 6 will use the upgraded Creation Engine 3, it will likely have a much closer visual style to Starfield than games like Skyrim or Fallout 4. These images have sparked varied reactions – some fans hope The Elder Scrolls 6 looks significantly better, while others praise Starfield as Bethesda’s most visually impressive game to date. Creation Engine 2 was a major improvement, so it will be fascinating to see how much further Creation Engine 3 advances the graphics.
Although there’s a lot of speculation, Bethesda hasn’t officially said where The Elder Scrolls 6 will take place. It’s possible the next game will be set somewhere completely unexpected, so we’ll have to wait and see if the recent Starfield images give us a clue about the location.

Gamers Are Hoping This is the Year That Brings Fresh ES6 News
Fans are hoping the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase will finally show a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6, but it might be too optimistic. Every Xbox event seems to bring up the topic of the next Elder Scrolls game. While anything is possible, current estimates suggest it won’t be released until 2027 or 2028. Because of past issues with announcing things too early, Bethesda will likely be cautious about making any promises just yet.
