A robot that looks like a human is becoming popular online after it scared away a group of wild boars in Poland. This isn’t the first time the robot has gained attention on social media, however.
Edward Warchocki isn’t your average robot – he’s become quite popular online, with 160,000 followers on Instagram and over 298,000 on TikTok.
In his newest video, Edward is seen chasing three wild boars through Warsaw, the capital of Poland, all while carrying a backpack. The boars eventually run into the forest, and Edward waves to them as they disappear.
The video originally appeared on TikTok on April 12th and has quickly become very popular, gaining over six million views. It’s been widely shared and has even been featured in news reports from sources like ABC.
Edward the robot is a Polish social media star
Edward is quite well-known in Poland, appearing on shows like Dancing with the Stars and performing at sports games.
His website describes him as a friendly and approachable person who connects with all kinds of people. It jokingly claims, “I don’t know how it happens, but people just seem to like me!” The site goes on to say that he gets high-fives from kids, long chats with grandmothers, and even strangers stop him on the street to compliment his style or share a laugh.
That’s correct – Edward often shows off a pricey Rolex watch in his videos.

In March, the robot even received an invitation to the Polish parliament, where it surprisingly suggested raising the pay of the security guards who work there.
Edward’s sudden popularity coincides with growing excitement around robots. Many companies are now creating human-like robots designed to help with daily activities, and they plan to start selling these robots to the public soon.
Robotic security is already becoming a reality. In March, a video of Undaunted Robotics Security’s robot guard dogs successfully chasing away an intruder at a Georgia apartment complex quickly spread online.
