The TON blockchain is back online after a second outage.Toncoin is up roughly 8% on the news.
As a seasoned analyst with years of observing and analyzing various blockchain projects under my belt, I must say that TON‘s recent string of outages is concerning, to say the least. While it’s good news that they’ve managed to get back online, this repeated downtime due to heavy load attributed to DOGS token minting raises questions about the scalability and robustness of the network.TON is once again back online after going to the DOGS a second time within 24 hours.
The TON Network has successfully gone live! You’ll soon be able to manage your TON assets, including deposits and withdrawals, within the Wallet, with proper processing taking place in due time, as announced on the TON Community Telegram channel around 9:30 AM Hong Kong time yesterday.
As an analyst, I experienced an outage that extended beyond the typical four-hour window. The root cause of this disruption, as per TON‘s explanation, was attributed to the significant demand generated by the DOGS token minting process, which apparently placed a heavy load on their systems.
In a brief span of just two days, we’ve experienced two similar outages, the latest occurring on Wednesday. The system came to a halt in the U.S. afternoon on Tuesday, only to restart around midnight. Initially, it was speculated that DOGS were responsible for this disruption, and later, TON officially confirmed this after the network encountered trouble once more.
According to information from CoinDesk Indices, Toncoin, the token associated with the TON protocol, has seen a rise of around 8% following recent announcements.

Currently, the token’s price remains lower than it was before the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov.

Although Telegram and TON are distinct legal entities, they are tightly connected because one depends significantly on the other’s operations.

In a French court on Wednesday (local time), Durov faced accusations for allegedly facilitating illegal transactions and child exploitation on the platform, refusing to assist law enforcement, and offering encryption services without proper oversight, after his recent detention in an area close to Paris. These charges, among others, have been brought against him.
