Denny’s Unveils Limited-Time ‘Masters of the Universe’ Menu

Eternia is a fantastical world brimming with magic, mythical beasts, and powerful weapons. It’s home to everything from skeletal villains and tiger-mounted warriors to unbelievably delicious pancakes piled high with ice cream and chocolate!

Wait, what?

To celebrate the new Masters of the Universe movie – a modern update to the classic 80s toys and cartoon – Denny’s is launching a fun and unusual menu. It features completely new dishes inspired by the film and the world of Eternia, offering a unique tie-in experience with plenty of Jared Leto!

Denny’s just launched a new menu inspired by Masters of the Universe, and it includes exciting items like pancakes topped with mint ice cream!

Denny’s Masters of the Universe Menu

He-Man Battle Burger

This delicious sandwich is piled high with tender beef, savory bacon, and tangy BBQ sauce, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles. It comes with a side of crispy wavy-cut fries.

Eternia’s Premium Breakfast Slam

Enjoy fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with mint chocolate chip ice cream and a rich chocolate drizzle. This delicious meal also includes eggs, hash browns, and your choice of bacon or sausage.

Jr. Grayskull’s Epic Cracklecakes

I just had the most amazing pancakes! They were these big, silver-dollar sized ones, covered in sweet vanilla cream, and then… get this… they sprinkled Pop Rocks on top! It was like a little explosion of fun with every bite – totally magical!

Skeletor’s Dark Shakeverse

This electric shake combines the flavors of strawberry ice cream and blueberries, finished with whipped cream and a fun, crackling layer of Pop Rocks.

So, to quickly explain, Denny’s is celebrating the new Masters of the Universe movie with some unusual menu items: ice cream on pancakes and Pop Rocks in milkshakes. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but maybe it features a scene where He-Man defeats Skeletor using… well, ice cream and Pop Rocks! It would certainly explain this promotion.

The new movie, Masters of the Universe, comes out in theaters on June 5th. And if you’re hungry now, Denny’s has a limited-time Masters of the Universe menu available at most locations, while supplies last. Let’s just hope I can finish everything on it!

From April 15th to April 22nd, Denny’s Rewards members will be automatically entered to win a grand prize package just by making any purchase from the menu. Ten winners will receive a trip for two, including hotel stays, and exclusive access to the premiere and afterparty of Masters of the Universe.

The Weirdest Movie and TV Food of 2025

5. P.F. Chang’s Pink Slip Ube Cheesecake (For Freakier Friday)

P.F. Chang’s cleverly linked its menu to the movie Freakier Friday, a sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday, by offering a special dessert called the “Pink Slip Ube Cheesecake.” The dessert featured layers of ube (purple sweet potato), vanilla cheesecake, strawberry-vanilla sauce, pink glitter, and dragon fruit. The layered presentation was meant to reflect the movie’s body-swap theme, though a dessert that tasted like something different than it looked might have been more fitting.

However, the dessert didn’t quite hit the mark. While the texture was creamy, it lacked any real flavor. I took my kids to try it, and they were not impressed – one refused to even taste it, and the other disliked it. It was essentially a visually appealing but bland, mushy disc, which wasn’t a great fit for a dessert inspired by a kids’ movie.

4. McDonald’s Grinch Salt Fries (For The Grinch)

McDonald’s created a special holiday menu for 2025 based on the Grinch. It included classic items like Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, plus a pair of Grinch socks. The standout – and strangely named – item was “Dill Pickle Grinch Salt McShaker Fries,” which were simply regular fries you seasoned yourself with a pickle-flavored salt. While I enjoy the combination of pickles and the flavor was good, the fries were a mess to eat. The seasoning was so mild you had to cover the fries in a thick layer, making them gritty and sandy. Ultimately, the unpleasant texture made me dislike all limited-time holiday food from big restaurant chains – which, considering the Grinch’s personality, felt strangely fitting.

Wednesday’s Dips of Dread (For Wednesday)

Ordering Wendy’s special meal on Wednesdays, which featured mystery-flavored sauces, was truly unsettling. Customers would get chicken nuggets with one of four possible sauces – You Can’t Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake, or Nowhere to Woe. To increase my chances of trying different flavors, I bought two orders of nuggets, but ended up with four servings of the exact same pink sauce. It perfectly captured the feeling of 2025 – just four cups of strange, unidentified goo.

2. Tostitos Oliver’s Dip (For Only Murders in the Building)

To promote the new season of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, Tostitos sent me a metal briefcase containing a puzzle. You needed a blacklight to solve it, and the reward was a limited-edition jar of “Oliver’s Dip” – a unique flavor you couldn’t buy in stores.

The idea was clever, since Martin Short’s character on the show loves dips, but I quickly discovered why Tostitos wasn’t planning to sell this widely: it didn’t taste very good. It was an odd mix of onion and jalapeño flavors – though the label listed jalapeños as the third ingredient after water and canola oil. While that sounds appealing, the dip ended up being more sour than spicy, and it didn’t take long for the jar to end up in the trash.

1. Popeye’s Cupcake Cup (For Five Nights at Freddy’s 2)

We often say we eat with our eyes, and what I was served at Popeye’s definitely didn’t look appetizing! Their limited-time Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 menu was strange enough, but the “cupcake cup” was the worst part. (It’s a pizza place tie-in with… fried chicken?!) It was described as a moist strawberry cake with pink icing, but it tasted like a soggy, sugary sponge soaked in corn syrup. I haven’t seen Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 yet, but if it involves Josh Hutcherson being forced to eat these things by robotic bears for five nights straight, it would easily be the scariest movie ever made.
