Every Confirmed FromSoftware Adaptation in 2026: From Bloodborne Animated Movie to Elden Ring’s A24 Movie

FromSoftware, the studio famous for the challenging ‘Souls’ games, has created a consistently excellent library of titles. 2026 promises to be a huge year for fans, with not one, but three different adaptations in the works: an animated movie, an anime series, and a live-action Hollywood film. These projects will each explore different stories and worlds from throughout FromSoftware’s impressive history.

With plans for a Bloodborne movie and a live-action Elden Ring film from A24, the world of Soulsborne games is growing beyond video games. Here’s an update on all the confirmed adaptations expected in 2026.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Live-Action Film (A24)

Of the three adaptations currently in the works, the Elden Ring movie is generating the most buzz, thanks to its development by A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment. Excitingly, Alex Garland – known for directing films like Annihilation, Ex Machina, and Civil War – is set to direct.

Notably, George R.R. Martin, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire, is a producer on the movie. He worked with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki to develop the game’s story and its underlying mythology.

Cailee Spaeny, Ben Whishaw, and Kit Connor are confirmed to star in the movie, and the production is now underway in Scotland, according to Polygon. More cast members will be announced soon.

Bloodborne R-Rated Animated Film (Sony Pictures)

Sony Pictures revealed plans for an animated Bloodborne film at CinemaCon 2026. The project is a collaboration between PlayStation Productions, the animation studio Lyrical Animation, and popular online creator Jacksepticeye.

Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group, recently told Variety that the upcoming film adaptation will stay very faithful to the original game. He indicated it won’t avoid the game’s scary elements or dark, gothic atmosphere, and its R-rating confirms this intention.

We don’t have a release date yet, but fans have been incredibly patient. The time between now and the announcement of the release date and cast likely won’t compare to how long they’ve already waited.

Sekiro: No Defeat Anime (Crunchyroll)

FromSoftware’s acclaimed game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting an anime series called Sekiro: No Defeat. Announced at Gamescom 2025, the show will retell the game’s story and will be available to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2026.

This adaptation seems particularly well-suited for anime, thanks to its Japanese setting and emphasis on sword fighting – both of which translate beautifully to animation. Even though the game came out in 2019, it remains popular, and the upcoming anime will likely boost its appeal even further.
