Giant interactive cat takes over Hong Kong airport

Okay, so this is wild – a massive, like, giant cat just showed up at the Hong Kong International Airport! It’s asleep, thankfully, but it’s huge – basically a kaiju-sized kitty. Everyone’s grabbing pictures, which, honestly, who wouldn’t? It’s pretty amazing!

Okay, so if you’re flying in or out of Hong Kong Airport, you have to keep an eye out for this massive ginger cat! He’s basically a local celebrity now – everyone sees him around. It’s pretty cool, he’s become a real fixture at the airport.

A new art installation called “A Moment to Purr” opened on April 3rd and has quickly become a popular sight in the airport’s arrival area. But don’t worry, this oversized, adorable creature isn’t a threat—as long as you let him sleep!

Colossal cat appears in HK Airport

The new exhibit, called Moment to Purr, showcases a giant animatronic cat that realistically purrs, moves its ears, and gently sways its tail. Though it doesn’t have an official name, visitors have affectionately nicknamed the enormous feline “Catzilla” because of its impressive size.

A large cat sculpture now greets passengers, aiming to create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The installation is designed like a virtual pet – travelers can interact with it through a special kiosk, ‘feeding’ and playing with the cat, which responds in real time.

Guests can interact with a screen to make the cat respond in different ways, creating fun moments for photos.

Okay, so I just found out about this HUGE cat sculpture called Catzilla at the Hong Kong airport! It’s chilling out in Terminal 1’s Arrivals Hall A, totally asleep, and it’s gonna be there until May 2nd, 2026. After that, poof, it’s gone! No one knows if it’ll pop up somewhere else, like another airport or an art show, but if you want that perfect Instagram shot with the world’s biggest cat, you seriously need to book a flight to Hong Kong right now!

Catzilla, the famous airport cat, isn’t the only unusual thing to capture the internet’s attention. Earlier this year, a South Korean airline created a unique ‘library’ filled with instant noodles in its waiting area.
