Andor might have only had two seasons, totaling 24 episodes, but it’s quickly become one of the most praised Star Wars shows, in my opinion. I definitely count myself among those who were really blown away by the Disney+ series, and I especially loved Deedra Meero, the ISB supervisor, who was played brilliantly by Denise Gough. I just heard that Gough is joining the cast of Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie, and I’m honestly laughing out loud at how she’s described the character she’ll be playing.
Instead of restarting the film series with another movie based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the director known for Barbie will be writing and directing Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. Although The Magician’s Nephew was the sixth book published by C.S. Lewis in his fantasy series, it actually tells the story that happens first in the timeline. Gough mentioned her work on the upcoming Netflix-only film at the end of a conversation on We’re Not Kidding with Mehdi & Friends, stating:
I’m working on a movie with Greta Gerwig-it’s a Narnia film. I’m playing a somewhat unpleasant character, but that’s alright, because it’s aimed at children, so it’s perfectly acceptable.

I haven’t really followed the Narnia series, so I’m not sure who Denise Gough is talking about, especially since Emma Mackey is already playing Jadis, the White Witch. However, it’s funny that all she’ll say about her character is that she’s unkind to children – that’s perfectly fitting for a story like this! After seeing her powerfully intimidate people in both the Rebel alliance and the Imperial forces in Andor as Deedra Meero, I’m excited to see Gough do the same to these kids. They probably deserve it… don’t they?
Similar to the original book, Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew will center around Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, who will be portrayed in the film by David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell, respectively. While the story on Earth takes place 40 years before the events of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, it unfolds 1,000 years earlier in Narnia, showing how this magical world came to be. The Magician Nephew was originally intended as the fourth film in the previous Narnia series, following The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. However, Walden Media’s agreement with the C.S. Lewis estate ended before they could begin production.
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew features a talented cast including Carey Mulligan as Mabel Kirke, Meryl Streep voicing Aslan, Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, and Tom Bonington as Mr. Potts. The film will initially debut in cinemas across the United States and Canada on November 26, 2026, before streaming on Netflix on December 25, 2026.
