Where to Find Corporal Brennan in Borderlands 4

The ‘Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned’ expansion for Borderlands 4 introduced several new bosses. The story culminates in a final battle against Captain Willis inside the vault, but players will encounter many challenging enemies before reaching that point.

In the Mad Ellie DLC, you’ll encounter a boss named Corporal Brennan. This Dahl soldier will attempt to thwart your progress, and he commands a powerful mech to aid him.

Here’s a guide to Corporal Brennen in Borderlands 4, covering where to find him, what items he drops, and strategies for defeating him.

Corporal Brennan Location

You first meet Corporal Brennan while playing through the ‘Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned’ story expansion for Borderlands 4. The boss fight with him begins soon after you team up with Ellie.

You can fight the DLC bosses over and over again using Moxxi’s Replay machines. To get back to Corporal Brennan, head to the eastern part of the Crooked Teeth area in the Whispering Glacier.

Okay, so getting to this spot is pretty easy. You can either head north from Ellie’s Garage fast travel point, or just use the door inside the Speakeasy to teleport right there. Honestly, finding this boss was a pain, kind of like when I was hunting around for Bore-Tex, or any of those bosses in the Stone Demon DLC. It took me a while to even find him!

Corporal Brennan Loot

Corporal Brennan is guaranteed to drop two unique, powerful items. However, we haven’t found any evidence of him dropping the rarer, pearlescent items yet.

Item Name Type Ability
Bismuth-Tipped Dagger Throwing Knife Bismuth: Knife attaches to target on hit. Target takes 15% increased damage from the element type of the dagger. For instance, if the dagger is shock elemental, the target will take increased shock damage.
Laser-Cutter Assault Rifle Bone Saw: Shoots Lasers

The Bismuth-Tipped Dagger is a throwing knife with a special ability: when it hits an enemy, it stays stuck and deals extra damage.

The extra damage from the dagger matches its elemental type. For example, a dagger with fire damage will deal extra fire damage to enemies. This is especially useful for characters who focus on dealing elemental damage.

The Laser Cutter is another powerful weapon, a special assault rifle. Its unique ability, Bone Saw, lets you fire rapid bursts of laser beams.

Okay, so when I fire the Laser Cutter, it blasts out a bunch of really strong lasers. Seriously, it can take out those smaller enemies in a single shot – it’s super satisfying!

Tips for Fighting Corporal Brennan

Corporal Brennan is a much simpler boss than others, like the Stone Demon. He doesn’t have a wide range of attacks to watch out for. His primary attack involves shooting electric orbs, which are easy to avoid. He can fire these orbs either straight ahead or all around him.

His second attack involves leaping into the air and slamming down, creating a shockwave in front of him. He also launches rockets sometimes, but these are fairly easy to dodge.

Corporal Brennan’s charge attack is his most frustrating move – it’s hard to dodge and hits incredibly hard. Fortunately, the arena is full of enemies, so you can recover quickly if you get knocked down.

To defeat Corporal Brennan, it’s best to use both a corrosive and a shock weapon. He has a shield that’s especially vulnerable to shock damage, and his health is protected by armor that’s weak against corrosive attacks.
