IKEA and Pokémon are partnering for a unique collaboration that combines the Pokémon world with IKEA stores and online experiences. You’ll find elements of both in the real world and within the Pokémon game.
This collaboration marks IKEA Japan’s 20th anniversary and focuses on letting players create their ideal home within a game and then bring that vision to life in the real world.
The latest Pokémon collaboration introduces “IKEA Island” to the Pokémon Pokopia game. Players can explore areas themed around popular Pokémon like Pikachu and Snorlax, and discover rooms decorated by IKEA’s design experts.
As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited that IKEA is actually building those adorable Pokémon-themed rooms inside their stores in Japan! You can literally walk through them – it’s like stepping into the Pokémon world, and I wish I could go!
Pokemon x IKEA collab brings Pikachu + Snorlax rooms to life
The rooms are designed to look just like the ones in the game. The Pikachu room is bright and lively, decorated with energetic designs and forest themes, while the Snorlax room is all about comfort and relaxation, with a cozy and laid-back feel.
The special event takes place from April 1st to May 10th, and the IKEA Island within the game will stay available to explore until June 30th.
In addition to the special Pokémon-themed rooms, IKEA stores in Japan will be offering fun activities starting April 18th. Customers can participate in a stamp rally, finding Pokémon hidden throughout the store and collecting seven stamps while also discovering interesting facts about IKEA.

Customers who spend ¥5,000 (about $31) or more will receive exclusive stickers and be entered into a drawing for prizes, including a ¥100,000 ($630) IKEA gift card and special collaborative merchandise.
Okay, so even the restaurants are going all-out for this event! They’re decorating cakes with Pokemon themes and setting up cool photo ops at some locations, which is awesome. Definitely gotta check that out!
Pokémon often partners with real-world brands, like airlines and even jewelers, but fans will be excited to finally decorate their homes with Pokémon-themed furniture.
