Okay, I have to say, “Cat Parents” looks absolutely adorable – seriously, it might be the cutest indie game I’ve ever laid eyes on! And it turns out a lot of other people think so too! The game has just blown up online, and the developers are completely shocked by how popular it’s become so quickly. It’s amazing to see!
In Cat Parents, the goal is simple enough. Ride your bike through a cartoony city and save as many cats as possible. Some might be stuck up in trees, others trapped underground. Your job is to rescue them, care for them, and ultimately decide if they’re yours to keep.
It’s impossible to care for every cat, so finding good, permanent homes for them is a key part of the job. While you’re doing that, you’re also improving your cat sanctuary, creating the perfect place for feline companions.
The unique idea and beautiful art style have quickly grabbed people’s attention, with the trailer already receiving hundreds of thousands of views. Though the game, Cat Parents, is still early in development and doesn’t have a release date yet, it’s become incredibly popular, surprising the developers with the enthusiastic response.
Cat Parents goes viral, racks up over 100,000 Steam wishlists in 3 days
Coming from Gaze In Games, the independent devs describe it as a “cat rescue simulator.”
It’s hard not to love the idea of rescuing cats, giving them the love and care they deserve, and finding them forever homes. You can enjoy this experience on your own or team up with friends online, all with the same goal: becoming the best cat parents possible.
I was blown away when I saw the game hit 100,000 wishlists on Steam just three days after the page went up! It doesn’t mean it’ll definitely sell 100,000 copies when it’s released, but it’s a fantastic sign that a lot of people are excited about it – and that’s really encouraging to see!
Devs acknowledged as much on Steam itself, writing: “100,000 wishlists in 3 days. That’s… a LOT.
We’re incredibly grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown for Cat Parents! Every wish list item and message truly means a lot to us.
Shortly after the initial announcement, studio CEO Solvita Zacha shared a LinkedIn post describing Cat Parents as a game the team had been passionately developing for a long time.
Honestly, this game is something we created because we wanted to play it! It’s amazing and so humbling to see how many other people are excited about it too – we never expected this kind of response!

It’s very early in development, and we don’t have a release date yet. It will likely be a year or two before those who’ve shown interest can actually play the game, but we’re excited to follow its progress and see those charming cats come to life.
