John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part III Sets Up a Surprise Fantastic Four Reunion

John Krasinski, known for his work on The Office and Jack Ryan, will direct the next film in the series. There’s even a possibility that some of the original cast from Marvel’s Fantastic Four could appear together again. Krasinski first gained recognition as a director in 2018 with A Quiet Place, which starred his wife, Emily Blunt, and featured a story idea from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (also known for 65 and Heretic), and he’s continuing to work on this successful film series.

I’m a huge fan of the A Quiet Place movies! The first one really blew me away with its terrifying concept – a world where you have to be completely silent because creatures hunt by sound. Since then, we’ve gotten A Quiet Place Part II and a prequel called A Quiet Place: Day One which was great to see, introducing Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. But I’m so excited to hear that the next movie, A Quiet Place Part III, is going back to follow the Abbott family again! They’ve just announced when it’s coming out, and it’s got me thinking about John Krasinski’s work on the Marvel movies – maybe we’ll see some similar vibes!

John Krasinski Has Confirmed A Quiet Place Part III’s Release Date

The filmmakers always planned to tell the story of A Quiet Place over three movies, and after the first two films did so well, it’s great to see the third one happening. Originally, Paramount Pictures scheduled A Quiet Place Part III for release on July 9, 2027, but John Krasinski announced on Instagram in March 2026 that the release date was moved to July 30, 2027.

The cast for the next A Quiet Place film is growing! Jack O’Connell (28 Years Later, Sinners), Jason Clarke (Mudbound, Oppenheimer), and Katy O’Brian (The Mandalorian, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) are joining the team. John Krasinski also confirmed that Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds, and Cillian Murphy will be back. It’s possible even more familiar faces from previous A Quiet Place movies will return, especially if the third film continues the story.

A Quiet Place Part III Could Feature Connections to A Quiet Place: Day One

In A Quiet Place Part II, the Abbott family – Evelyn, Regan, and Marcus – found refuge on the remote Norwalk Islands, where they encountered other people surviving the alien attacks. They discovered a potential weakness of the creatures, hinting that the next film, A Quiet Place Part III, will likely return to this island setting off the Connecticut coast. This opens the possibility of seeing more survivors who call the islands home in the third installment.

Following the events of A Quiet Place: Day One, the story may continue with Eric (Joseph Quinn), a British law student Sam (Nyong’o) meets when the aliens first arrive in New York. Although Sam didn’t survive Day One, Eric escaped on a boat with a cat named Frodo and later found Henri (Djimon Hounsou), the leader of the community on the Norwalk Islands.

With both Henri and Eric likely heading to the Norwalk Islands, there’s a good chance Eric could return in A Quiet Place Part III. Although Henri died in Part II and Eric disappeared, the events shown in Day One hint that Eric is actually part of the community. This could mean Joseph Quinn will star alongside Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and others in the next installment.

Joseph Quinn in A Quiet Place Part III Would Reunite 2 Fantastic Four Actors

Although John Krasinski’s character died in the first A Quiet Place movie, he’s confirmed to direct the third film, planned for release in 2027. There’s a chance Joseph Quinn will join the cast, which would be the first time these two actors—both of whom have played members of Marvel’s Fantastic Four—appear in a movie together.

As a huge Marvel fan, I was so excited to finally see John Krasinski join the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness back in 2022! Everyone had been buzzing about him playing Mister Fantastic, and it was cool to see him as a version of the character, part of this secret Illuminati group checking out Doctor Strange. It was a real shame though – his Mister Fantastic didn’t last long, sadly getting taken out by the Scarlet Witch. It was briefly mentioned he had a wife and kids, which made it even more impactful, honestly.

John Krasinski is the fourth actor to take on the role of Reed Richards, following Alex Hyde-White, Ioan Gruffudd, and Miles Teller (with Pedro Pascal playing the role more recently). Meanwhile, Joseph Quinn is just the third actor to portray Johnny Storm’s Human Torch, after Jay Underwood and Chris Evans. Quinn first appeared as the Human Torch in 2025’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which marks Marvel Studios’ official introduction of the Fantastic Four.

Eric Would Be a Great Addition to A Quiet Place Part III

Though they weren’t in the same movie, there’s excitement about the possibility of seeing Eric and John Krasinski work together in A Quiet Place Part III. Eric was a fantastic addition to A Quiet Place: Day One, which showed the beginning of the invasion from a fresh, hopeful viewpoint. It would be great to see how his character has evolved since those early days, especially now that he’s part of the same community as the Abbott family.

Djimon Hounsou helped link A Quiet Place Part II to its earlier story, and Joseph Quinn could do the same for the next A Quiet Place film planned for 2027. This opens the possibility of Quinn’s character, the Human Torch, and John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic teaming up against Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.) in future Marvel movies like Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. They might even cross paths with the Quiet Place universe in a new way. While the cast is already strong, Joseph Quinn would be a valuable addition.
