I’ve been seeing HSTikkyTokky everywhere lately! Between Louis Theroux’s documentary and all the stuff with Piers Morgan, he’s really in the spotlight. I just watched a recent livestream where he actually addressed a headline that was saying he has ‘daddy issues’ – it was pretty interesting to see him respond directly to that.
A recent Netflix documentary sparked discussion about the connection between ‘daddy issues’ and the manosphere movement. Journalist Louis Theroux observed that many prominent figures within this movement grew up with fathers who were either largely absent or abusive. For example, HSTikkyTokky was raised without much involvement from his father, Victor Ubogu, a former rugby player.
Honestly, after seeing all this drama unfold online, I’ve been reading a lot of takes from people trying to figure out what’s really going on with these influencers. One popular idea is that a lot of them are craving approval from men because they didn’t have strong father figures growing up. But it’s complicated – apparently, there’s also some thought that they might secretly be a little resentful towards other women, maybe linked to issues with their own moms and the men they chose. It’s all pretty deep, and honestly, a bit wild to think about while I’m just trying to enjoy my games.
Parenting expert Tanith Carey supports the idea that unresolved issues with one’s father can be harmful, as she explored in an article for the Independent titled ‘I’m a psychologist. TikTok and the manosphere’s daddy issues are damaging us all’.
HSTikkyTokky asks his followers if he “gives off daddy issues”

I was watching HSTikkyTokky on Kick over the weekend – he usually just gets mad about stuff online and does some gambling, which is pretty typical for his streams. But then he stumbled across an article by Carey, and it was really surprising – he actually got genuine for a moment! It was cool to see a different side of him.
The story begins when Sullivan searches for himself on Google, and at first, he doesn’t take the results seriously. He says, “I’m an expert on parenting, and this is my take on TikTok and the problems men have with their fathers.” Then, reacting to what he sees, he exclaims, “What is all this nonsense? Problems with their dads, seriously?”
Then he turned to his viewers and jokingly asked, “Do I seem like I have ‘daddy issues,’ guys? Honestly, I don’t think so.” He continued, “Am I giving off that impression?” When one comment simply said, “A bit,” he responded with disbelief, “Really?”
If you look at the other responses, many said he presents more “mummy issues” than anything else.
HSTikkyTokky also shared that he’s frustrated with becoming more popular, saying he prefers when his content was only seen by his original, dedicated fans.
He’s overwhelmed by the sudden attention and wishes things could go back to how they were. “I just want a normal life again,” he explained. “This is too much—all the publicity is really getting to me. I miss how things used to be.”
Inside the Manosphere fuels parody content
Even though HSTikkyTokky preferred to stay out of the spotlight, they’ve continued to gain popularity on social media, especially thanks to attention from UK comedian JDTickerz.
If you’re not familiar, JDTickerz has been creating parodies of HSTikkyTokky for months, even before the documentary Inside the Manosphere was released.
He creates videos where he playfully imitates HS, exaggerating how he speaks and acts. He often reenacts popular clips and makes fun of HS’s content. While doing this, he always pretends to dribble a basketball, and wears a bald cap and a sock to complete the look.
I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about these sketches, especially this character called Emily who keeps popping up. And honestly, the whole thing blew up when that scene with the ‘I don’t want a juice bar, mommy’ line dropped – JDTickerz has been going crazy with it ever since!
HSTikkyTokky and JDTickerz have interacted online, with HSTikkyTokky commenting on several of JDTickerz’s videos. One video features JDTickerz and Sam Yaffé – who is also featured in the documentary Inside the Manosphere – reacting to a parody of influencer Alexis Reed.
In the video, Sam observes that things are becoming chaotic, and HSTikkyTokky expresses frustration with Alexis, as they used to work together.
Sullivan told Alexis, “I’m done talking to you after this.” He then repeated this message to her in person.

HSTikkyTokky has been fast to react to some news and opinions, but he hasn’t yet responded to the recent surge of parody content inspired by the documentary.
Louis Theroux’s new documentary, Inside the Manosphere, is now available on Netflix. You can also find Theroux’s recent thoughts on incels, a reaction from Myron Gaines’ former partner Angie, and a list of other new documentaries coming to streaming platforms this month.
