‘Dutton Ranch’ Trailer Reveals ‘Yellowstone’ Sequel Release Date

The first trailer for the new Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch, shows Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton starting over in South Texas. It promises a more intense and violent Western than the original series, with scenes of gun battles, fistfights, explosions, horse riding, and even mysterious deaths.

Kevin Costner’s daughter, Reilly Costner, and Forrie J. Hauser will reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in Dutton Ranch, a new series continuing the story of the Yellowstone universe after the original show ended in 2024. The drama also stars Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris, and Annette Bening.

After the dramatic events of Yellowstone, the story continues with Beth and Rip trying to build a new life away from the painful memories of the ranch. But, predictably, they quickly face fresh challenges and a powerful, unforgiving rancher who will do anything to maintain control. Set in South Texas, this new chapter explores a world where old wounds run deep, holding grudges is common, and simply staying alive could cost you everything.

I’m so excited! Paramount just announced that Dutton Ranch will be coming to both Paramount Network and Paramount+ starting May 15, 2026, at 8pm Eastern and Pacific time. They’re kicking things off with two episodes right away, and then new episodes will air weekly throughout the first season, which has nine episodes total. I can’t wait!

Developed by Chad Feehan, who also served as showrunner, and based on characters created by John Linson, Dutton Ranch boasts a large team of executive producers including David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Keith Cox. This season, Christina Voros not only executive produced but also directed several episodes, including the first and last. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also directed episodes this season.

The new nine-episode series, a spin-off from Yellowstone, is a collaboration between Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Director Greg Yaitanes, who worked on both Marshals and Dutton Ranch, hinted at the show’s connection to the original, saying it felt like they were essentially creating a sixth season of Yellowstone. He also suggested that viewers might recognize some returning characters.

That’s a great question! We discussed it quite a bit, as everyone wanted to be involved in the other show. Personally, I think Kayce would fit best on Dutton Ranch. As a fan, that’s a storyline I’d be really excited about. I’m not sure Beth would work as well within the world of Marshals. Kayce would seamlessly integrate into Dutton Ranch because the tone is similar to the original Yellowstone. Many of the people working on Dutton Ranch felt like they were essentially creating Season 6 of Yellowstone. Marshals is more focused on action, guns, and that kind of exciting stuff.
