Rebecca Ferguson continues to be incredibly busy, and 2025 is no exception. Just three months into the year, she already appeared in two films, including…
The science fiction film launched in cinemas on January 23rd. Following a short theatrical release, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man became available on Netflix on March 20th. The Immortal Man was well-received, but Mercy received mixed reviews and didn’t perform well in theaters. Despite this, Mercy is now a chart-topper, according to FlixPatrol.
The film Mercy became available for streaming on February 17th, less than a week after it premiered in theaters. After becoming available online, it quickly rose to the top of the charts in 20 countries, including the United States.
Rebecca Ferguson’s Mercy Had an Underwhelming Run
Rebecca Ferguson is a highly sought-after actress who has been working in the industry for over thirty years. While she’s had a long career, she gained wider recognition for her roles as Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible films and Lady Jessica in the Dune series.
She’s recently starred in several successful projects, most notably the Apple TV+ science fiction series Silo, where she plays the main character. However, Mercy didn’t achieve the same level of success.
The sci-fi thriller Mercy, also featuring Chris Pratt, takes place in the near future. It centers around a new system where an AI judge oversees violent crime cases, and defendants have just 90 minutes to prove they didn’t commit the crime.
The new film, Mercy, follows LAPD Detective Chris Raven as he fights for his life while on trial for murder. Unless he can prove he didn’t commit the crime, he faces execution, and his case is overseen by an AI judge played by Ferguson.
The film Mercy was directed by Timur Bekmambetov and stars Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan, and Kylie Rogers.
The film Mercy didn’t perform well at the box office, earning a total of just $54.3 million worldwide. This was a letdown considering it cost $60 million to make, with $24.4 million coming from domestic sales and $29.9 million from international markets.
Despite not doing well in theaters, the sci-fi film Mercy also received negative reviews from critics. It currently has a 25% rating based on 177 reviews. However, audiences seem to enjoy it, with an 83% approval rate, describing it as a fun and engaging movie.
Rebecca Ferguson Tops the Charts on 2 Different Platforms
I’m so excited everyone is loving Rebecca Ferguson’s new sci-fi series on Prime Video! She’s always been a fantastic actress, and it’s great to see her latest project doing so well. Honestly, she’s been amazing in everything I’ve seen her in, and this new release is no exception.
This movie continues the story of the popular BBC/Netflix historical crime series and reveals what happens to Tommy Shelby. Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan have joined the cast. While the trailer for Dune: Part Three recently dropped and the two are available on HBO Max, they haven’t reached the top spot in streaming rankings yet.
Mercy is streaming on Prime Video.
