Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, is apparently creating an AI helper to assist with his job. This comes as Meta increasingly focuses on using AI to improve how work gets done.

Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly working on a personal AI assistant, built internally at Meta, that will act like a highly efficient agent to manage tasks and find information, according to The Wall Street Journal.

This tool is still being built, but it’s already helping Mark Zuckerberg get answers fast, without having to ask a lot of people.

This project reflects Meta’s broader strategy of incorporating artificial intelligence into all parts of its business. This move is intended to help Meta compete with newer, smaller companies that were built around AI from the start.

Meta pushes AI adoption across entire workforce

In a January earnings call, Zuckerberg explained Meta’s new focus: investing in AI tools to help employees be more productive. The goal is to empower individual contributors and simplify team structures, which he believes will lead to greater efficiency and a more enjoyable work environment.

Artificial intelligence is now essential to how Meta employees work, and its use is even being considered in performance evaluations. Employees are actively sharing new AI tools and methods with each other on internal platforms, with many noting the current pace of innovation feels similar to the company’s fast-moving beginnings.

Workers are starting to use AI assistants that can look through their messages and files, and even talk to colleagues or other AI programs. One such tool, called “Second Brain,” is designed to act like a personal assistant, helping users quickly find information within project documents.

Meta is growing its artificial intelligence technology by buying companies like Moltbook, a social network for AI programs, and Manus, which builds AI assistants that can complete tasks for you.

The company has formed a new AI engineering team to speed up the creation of its large language models. This team, potentially consisting of up to 50 people, will all report to one manager.

So, at work, we’re all being pushed to learn about AI – things like taking courses and even participating in hackathons. They really want us to get hands-on and even create our own little tools to help us get things done faster and better. It’s all about boosting productivity with AI, and they’re encouraging us to be a part of it.

In February, Meta received a patent for an AI system designed to continue managing a deceased person’s social media account – posting and interacting with others as if the person were still alive.
