Star Trek: Enterprise’s John Billingsley Misses Jolene Blalock Amid 25th Anniversary Celebrations

John Billingsley, a star from Star Trek: Enterprise, fondly remembers a former co-star he hasn’t been able to reach. Star Trek: Enterprise will mark its 25th anniversary in 2026. The show originally aired on UPN from 2001 to 2005, lasting four seasons. Now, thanks to streaming, Star Trek: Enterprise is actually more popular than when it first aired.

As a longtime Trek fan, I was genuinely surprised and delighted to hear Jolene Blalock is returning to the franchise! It’s fantastic to see her reprise her role as T’Pol in Star Trek: Lower Decks. Creator Mike McMahon really pulled off a coup getting her back, especially considering Jolene had completely stepped away from acting – and Star Trek in general – after Enterprise ended. She’d disconnected from the whole community, so this comeback feels truly special. Unlike the rest of the Enterprise cast, she’s getting another chance to beam aboard, and I, for one, am thrilled!

John Billingsley appeared on the TrekMove’s All Access Star Trek podcast with Anthony Pascale, Laurie Ulster, and Bobby Oler to discuss his new book, Trek Talks 5. The conversation included a discussion about the Star Trek: Lower Decks series and the chance they missed to have him reprise his role as Dr. Phlox. Billingsley mentioned the strong fan desire to see Jolene Blalock return as T’Pol, and shared how much he enjoys working with her. Here’s what he had to say:

John Billingsley expressed how much fans are eager to see the character Jolene return, saying he personally misses her and feels she’s been absent from the show for too long.

I’m hearing from John Billingsley that it’s unlikely Jolene Blalock will be at the Star Trek: Enterprise cast reunion. He doesn’t think she’ll join us for the 25th anniversary celebration at Star Trek Las Vegas, and honestly, I’m a little worried about it. I was really hoping we’d have the whole crew together!

John Billingsley has been trying to connect with Jolene as a friend for years, and he’d also liked to have her on his Trek Talks show. He hasn’t been able to reach her, and he doubts she’ll be at Star Trek Las Vegas. He believes she had some negative experiences at conventions in the past. Since she’s married to a very wealthy man, he figures she’d only attend events if she genuinely enjoys them, and if she doesn’t enjoy public appearances anymore, she probably won’t be there.

Jolene Blalock, known for her role in Star Trek, is married to Michael Rapino, the CEO of Live Nation. They have three sons together and also run the Rapino Foundation, which helps women and children in developing countries. In 2021, Jolene unexpectedly appeared on the red carpet at Star Trek Day before reprising her role as T’Pol on Star Trek: Lower Decks.

The cast of Star Trek: Enterprise will celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary at Star Trek Las Vegas (STLV) in August. Scott Bakula, who has been enjoying a renewed connection with the Star Trek universe, will be there. He’s also pitching a new Star Trek series called Star Trek: United, created by Michael Sussman, where he would reprise his role as President Jonathan Archer. Bakula recently reunited with his Enterprise co-stars at Dominic Keating’s wedding last year as well.

On March 28th, John Billingsley will host Trek Talks 5, a yearly telethon supporting the Hollywood Food Coalition. The event will feature a fantastic lineup of Star Trek actors and writers, including Paul Giamatti, Walter Koenig, Tim Russ, Gates McFadden, Tawny Newsome, and Brannon Braga and Ira Steven Behr. Organizers hoped Jolene Blalock would participate, as her involvement could have significantly increased donations.

It’s unlikely Jolene Blalock will be able to attend the Star Trek Las Vegas convention with her fellow cast members from Star Trek: Enterprise. Her absence will be a significant loss, preventing a full reunion of the Enterprise cast. However, Jolene Blalock has surprised fans in the past, so there’s still a chance she might appear and add to the celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary.
