The Cyberpunk 2077 trading card game launched on Kickstarter and quickly exceeded its funding target, reaching its goal in less than five minutes.
The trading card game market is very competitive. Popular games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, and Riftbound are already well-established, making it difficult for a new game to succeed. Launching a new card game requires either a lot of bravery or a hugely popular brand that will attract players immediately.
So, I heard about this company, WeirdCo, that makes tabletop games. They took a chance and partnered directly with CD Projekt Red, and honestly, it looks like that gamble really paid off for them!
Cyberpunk TCG blew past its Kickstarter goal in five minutes
The fundraising campaign began at 9 AM Pacific Time on March 17th, aiming to raise $100,000. It reached that goal in just five minutes! Before many people had even finished reading about the project, it had surpassed $6 million thanks to over 7,000 supporters and still counting. The campaign will continue until April 17th, and the cards are expected to ship in the third quarter of 2026.

Cyberpunk TCG is a competitive card game for two players. Instead of tracking life points, it uses ‘Gig Dice’ – a set of RPG dice ranging from D4 to D20 – to determine a player’s health.
The main idea is to begin each turn with six Gig Dice. Instead of inflicting damage, battles involve taking dice from your opponent, leading to a fast-paced, aggressive exchange. WeirdCo’s game design lead, Richard Zapp, compared it to a sudden street fight, rather than a formal contest.

The first set of figures includes characters from the main Cyberpunk game: V, Johnny Silverhand, Jackie Welles, Judy Álvarez, Panam Palmer, and Adam Smasher. The second set features characters from the animated series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
WeirdCo has a solid five-year plan for how the game will work, and since CD Projekt Red isn’t planning any more downloadable content for Cyberpunk 2077, this card game is launching at a perfect time for fans who want to experience more of Night City.
