Myron Gaines criticized Louis Theroux’s Netflix documentary, Inside the Manosphere, claiming Theroux misrepresented his polygamous relationship. However, Gaines is now facing widespread online ridicule, with many people disputing his accusations.
A new documentary features Louis Theroux interviewing men involved in the “Red Pill” online community, including Amrou Fudl, also known as Myron Gaines, the host of the Fresh and Fit Podcast. Theroux questions Fudl about some of his more debated opinions, such as his stated desire to have multiple wives.
Theroux then turned to Angie, the host’s partner, who didn’t seem enthusiastic about the suggestion. Gaines seemed to retract what he’d said, and later admitted that Angie was no longer allowed to talk to him.
Later on, Theroux wondered if that whole conversation with Angie had gotten to Gaines, like if he felt it made him look…well, less of a strong personality. It’s pretty sad to find out at the end of the documentary that Gaines and Angie actually broke up after all of this.
Myron Gaines claims recording ‘proves’ Louis Theroux was “deceptive”
Almost a week after the Netflix documentary came out, Gaines used X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration with how his interview was presented. He directly asked Louis Theroux why a crucial part of his explanation had been removed from the final cut.
Hey Louis Theroux, I’m a bit frustrated with the Netflix doc. Why did you cut out a really important part? It showed my ex actually accepted that I wanted an open relationship – and that totally messes with the story you were trying to tell, right? I’ve got a bunch more clips like this too, showing stuff you left on the cutting room floor.

Okay, so is this whole thing getting blown up because my ex actually admitted she was okay with me being in an open relationship? Is that what’s ruining the story you were trying to tell in that ‘documentary’ of yours?
He posted a recording of their interview from his phone, claiming it’s evidence of dishonest reporting. He accused the journalist of lying and having a hidden motive, and said it was time to reveal the truth.
In the recording, Angie describes her early relationship with Gaines as unusual, noting that he was dating other women at the time. She suggests that if Gaines were to have multiple wives in the future, those women would need to be exceptional and share a genuine connection with him.
Angie believes things need to be fair for the plan to succeed, but she’s not sure if that will actually be the case. She says, “We’ll just have to wait and see if it does happen.”
Inside the Manosphere viewers roast Gaines

Gaines argues this shows Theroux was dishonest, but people online are criticizing his comment, pointing out he may be regretting being in the documentary and noting that his partner, Angie, broke up with him soon after it aired.
One person commented that Myron’s intense concentration on this single issue is a way of dealing with difficulties. They believe he’s struggling and deeply regrets what he did.
Gaines responded to the criticism by saying she’s been busy with major interviews and anticipated this reaction. She now plans to publicly share information about Louis, referring to her strategy as a calculated move, like in chess.
This only led to further ridicule, with one person jokingly claiming they were intentionally acting foolish as part of a clever strategy.
Someone commented that referring to his ex-girlfriend as “my ex” was a mistake, and it was clear she didn’t appreciate it – so much so that she started seeing someone else, even jokingly comparing him to Pablo Escobar. Another person chimed in, saying she didn’t agree with being called his ex and ultimately left him for someone who enjoyed rollerblading.
Gaines explained that he left the relationship because his partner wanted to have a family, and told the commenter to “do your research.” Another commenter pointed out the hypocrisy of advocating for women to prioritize family and stay home, while leaving when his partner expressed the same desire.
Someone commented that this person is failing repeatedly, comparing it to the many ‘L’s in the word ‘lollapalooza’. Another user urged them to stop, saying their actions are making them look worse and pleading with them to maintain some self-respect and move on.
Someone told Myron to stop deceiving himself, pointing out that Angie visibly reacted uncomfortably to a question. They insisted that Angie’s response couldn’t change what was clearly true.
As a longtime observer of relationships, I’ve noticed a frustrating pattern. It seems like women often feel pressured to say what they think their partner wants to hear, even if it means hiding their true feelings. I’ve seen so many women act like they’re fine with something their man does – like, say, flirting with someone else – when really, it absolutely crushes them. It’s like they’re trying to avoid a fight or keep the peace, but honestly, it just seems incredibly painful for them.
