Arc Raiders devs respond as players are banned for using accessibility controller

I’m really worried about what’s happening with Arc Raiders right now. A lot of players, myself included in reading the reports, are getting permanently banned for supposedly cheating, but it turns out they’re just using accessibility tools to help them play! It’s super frustrating because these tools aren’t giving anyone an unfair advantage, and now dedicated players are losing their accounts for simply trying to enjoy the game.

A Reddit user reported being banned from the platform for playing the game using a unique controller that’s controlled by their breath.

I’m a gamer with quadriplegia, and I use a special device called a QuadStick – a mouth-controlled joystick – to use a computer for both gaming and everyday tasks. I was recently suspended from a platform and then permanently banned.

They admitted they were struggling and feeling down, acknowledging that others face even greater challenges, but still expressed how difficult things were for them.

Fortunately, after the post became popular, the original poster’s account was restored. It appears this was a common problem, and Embark Studios has acknowledged it, promising a solution soon.

The problem seems to be that Arc Raiders’ anti-cheat system is mistakenly flagging accessibility devices – tools that help players with disabilities – as cheating software.

While they haven’t said exactly when the issue will be resolved, users who believe they were unfairly suspended or banned can submit an appeal through the official Technical Support Center.
