The third Dune movie is coming soon, with Timothée Chalamet reprising his role as Paul Atreides. However, Rebecca Ferguson has shared that she only appeared in a single scene for the film.
Denis Villeneuve plans to conclude his Dune trilogy with an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune Messiah.’ The story picks up twelve years after the events of ‘Dune 2,’ with Paul now Emperor. However, his rise to power has come at a great cost – billions have died as his followers have conquered the galaxy. Facing a dangerous new reality, powerful groups like the Bene Gesserit, the Spacing Guild, and the Tleilaxu secretly conspire to remove Paul from power.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies are huge, visually stunning science fiction films, and fans are excited to see what happens next in Dune Part Three. The upcoming film, based on ‘Dune Messiah,’ will explore a more complex side of Paul Atreides, questioning whether he’s truly a hero. It will also feature the return of Duncan Idaho, played by Jason Momoa, as a clone, and introduce a new, shape-shifting villain named Dancer Scytale, played by Robert Pattinson.
Okay, so apparently don’t expect Lady Jessica, played by Rebecca Ferguson, to have a huge role in Dune: Part Three. It sounds like she won’t be on screen a ton, which is a little disappointing, honestly.

So, Rebecca Ferguson just dropped some interesting news! Apparently, Lady Jessica wasn’t even supposed to be in Dune: Part Three at first. Villeneuve originally didn’t plan for her, but then he decided he absolutely needed just one scene with her. Pretty cool how things can change during production, huh?
I only had a small role in the project, so I don’t really have much to say about it. The script was excellent, but my focus was on scenes one and two. Jessica wasn’t even originally meant to be in scene three. Then Denis Villeneuve decided he wanted me in just one scene, which was a little disappointing. I definitely felt some FOMO, but ultimately, you have to accept what the director wants and just do your part.
Tom Cruise is correct – Lady Jessica doesn’t appear much in Dune Messiah because she’d already gone back to her family’s home planet, Caladan. Caladan is the beautiful, forested ocean world we see at the beginning of the first Dune movie.
The novels hint at a romantic relationship developing between her and Gurney Halleck, played by Josh Brolin, though it’s currently unknown if this storyline will be explored in the third Dune movie.
