Entertainment reporters recently got a sneak peek at a trailer for Dune 3, and the initial reaction is overwhelmingly positive. Many believe director Denis Villeneuve has surpassed even his own impressive work with this new installment. Germain Lussier, writing on X (formerly Twitter), said he was amazed by the trailer’s scope, admitting he didn’t think Villeneuve could create anything more epic, but he was proven wrong after seeing it in IMAX.

Jeff Sneider shared that the trailer for Dune: Part Three is excellent and believes the film will be Warner Bros.’ main contender for awards next year, surpassing Digger. He’ll explain his reasoning in a future newsletter.

The official trailer for Dune 3 is coming out tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18th. Timothée Chalamet shared a new character poster on social media yesterday, and it quickly received over 600,000 likes in just two hours, building excitement for the film.

Following the release of the first film, Warner Bros. has now shared character posters featuring both returning actors and new faces. Isaach de Bankolé is joining the cast as the character Farok, and posters have also been revealed for Robert Pattinson and Anya Taylor-Joy, who reprise their roles. The new movie is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah and continues the story of Paul Atreides following the events of Dune: Part Two.

The movie is set to come out on December 18th and will compete with Avengers: Doomsday in theaters.
