Twitch streamer ERBY received a temporary ban after viewers noticed he was broadcasting from inside a dog crate for an extended period. He had even set up rewards to encourage people to keep him there longer.
In mid-March, ERBY began a unique livestream challenge: he stayed inside a dog crate until viewers stopped donating. Each $10 donation added another hour to his time in the crate.
Viewers had the option to donate money, with different amounts triggering increasingly uncomfortable challenges for the streamer. For example, a $5 donation meant ERBY would write the donor’s name on his body, while $3 would result in him turning off the lights for three minutes. Other donations led to him getting soaked with water or trying a tiny bit of extremely hot California Reaper sauce.
ERBY quickly raised $1,540 in only three days, but Twitch soon noticed and banned him.
Twitch streamer Erby is doing something unusual: he’s adding one hour to his livestream inside a cage for every $10 donation he receives! In just three days, he’s already raised $1,540.

Streamer banned on Twitch & Kick over cage marathon
The ban didn’t last long, and ERBY’s channel is now active again. However, all videos and clips from the stream that caused the issue have been removed.
ERBY posted a screenshot of an email from Twitch explaining his ban from X. The email stated he was suspended for asking for money or favors that encouraged harmful actions.
I just submitted an appeal.

Twitch doesn’t allow content that encourages or celebrates self-harm. Their rules specifically prohibit behavior that promotes or glorifies hurting oneself.
Our guidelines don’t allow anything that could put your life at risk, cause you physical harm, or encourage others to do things that are physically dangerous.
ERBY was first banned from Twitch, so he moved his streaming marathon to Kick. However, he’s now been banned there as well. Currently, if you try to visit his Kick channel, you’ll see a message saying it’s blocked for security reasons.
So, ERBY hasn’t said anything about getting banned on Kick on his other social media, and honestly, it’s got a lot of us wondering what he’s going to do. Will he try to keep doing the challenge on a different platform, or is he just going to give up on the whole thing?
It’s surprisingly not the first time a streamer has attempted something like this. Back in 2019, Twitch streamer Johnny_Now planned to live in a cage for a month, echoing a similar challenge he did in 2018 to try and improve his eating habits.
