Marvel Unveils Jessica Jones’ New Look Ahead Of Her MCU Return

Marvel has revealed a first glimpse of Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones ahead of the March 24th premiere of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Jessica Jones was a key figure in the Marvel shows originally on Netflix, appearing in Daredevil and her own series, as well as other connected programs. Now, she’s officially becoming part of the main Marvel Cinematic Universe in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

Marvel announced a new Jessica Jones comic series, titled Jessica Jones: Alias: Red Band, will be released alongside the Daredevil: Born Again comic. This new Jessica Jones story isn’t connected to her role in Daredevil; it features an alternate version of the character and a different take on Hell’s Kitchen.

The first issue of the comic is out, and Marvel has also shared a sneak peek at issues two and three, including details about their storylines.

The comics also offer fans a first glimpse of Jessica Jones before she’s featured in Daredevil: Born Again.

The first issue came out on March 11th and has a unique cover design. It blends various art styles together, using abstract shapes and lines. The cover also shows Jessica depicted in two distinct ways.

A preview page from the first issue also featured Jessica, depicted with an unusual art style not typically seen in comics. It highlighted her face in a unique way.

The preview doesn’t just show what’s happening now – it also hints at future storylines. Specifically, it confirms that Jessica is married to Luke Cage, and that he’s currently serving as the mayor of New York City.

Jessica Jones used to be a superhero called Jewel, but she wasn’t very good at it. She found more success as a private investigator, running her own agency called Alias Investigations. However, when her husband, Luke Cage, became mayor of New York, Jessica had to give up her detective work… or so she believed.

Interestingly, Marvel published a description of the comic online, on the official website, rather than including it within the first issue itself.

The show will feature a string of disturbing murders in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, and Jessica Jones will find herself investigating a mystery far more dangerous than anything she’s faced before.

Jessica Jones is back! When a series of disturbing murders rocks Hell’s Kitchen, Jessica finds herself caught in a mystery far more dangerous than anything she’s faced before. Balancing her life as the wife of Mayor Luke Cage, she’s forced to team up with the unpredictable Typhoid Mary to hunt down the killer. But the deeper she investigates the dark side of the city, the more confusing the clues become… This new RED BAND miniseries, written by Sam Humphries (‘New Avengers,’ ‘Legendary Star-Lord’) with art by Geraldo Borges (‘Thunderbolts’), commemorates the 25th anniversary of ‘Alias!’

The first issue’s preview featured a few images from the comic. One panel showed the door to Jessica’s detective agency, Alias Investigations. Sadly, a note on the door reads, “closed until further notice.”

A preview scene reveals that Jessica and Luke Cage’s daughter, Danielle, accidentally left a narwhal toy at Jessica’s office. This prompted Jessica to return and confront the fact that her business was closed.

Jessica discovered some old postcards that had been pushed under a neighbor’s door. As she started to look into them, a bright flash from a camera startled her.

Jessica and a photographer named Brewer have a disagreement, but then they hear something odd, as described on the following page.

Jessica screamed at Brewer to leave when a bloody, red-eyed rat ran past them.

The preview stops at a cliffhanger, leaving readers wondering what happens next. Fortunately, the full comic issue is now available to buy.

Marvel has revealed the cover art and summaries for issues two and three of the Jessica Jones: Alias comic series.

The cover of issue #2 matches the artistic style of the first book’s cover. This time, Jessica is shown holding a short sword directly in front of her.

Marvel’s website reveals that the second book will feature Jessica and Typhoid Mary investigating a series of disturbing murders in Hell’s Kitchen. Their investigation will uncover a secret mastermind behind the crimes.

Jessica Jones and Typhoid Mary, an unlikely duo, are teaming up to solve a series of gruesome murders in Hell’s Kitchen. Their investigation leads them to a surprising mastermind behind the killings. Will these two rivals be able to work together before they become the killer’s next victims?

The third issue’s cover continues the artistic style of the previous two. Instead of a straightforward image, it features Jessica’s face appearing on various postcards. These postcards, originally discovered in the first issue, now seem significant to the story – they’re prominently displayed on the cover, and the issue introduces a villain called the Postcard King.

In the third book from Marvel, Jessica Jones and Typhoid Mary track down their main suspect, the Postcard King. The story hints that he’s a disturbed individual who manipulates people through letters.

Okay, so I’m totally hooked on this new case Jessica and Mary are working! They’ve finally tracked down the guy they call ‘The Postcard King’ – a seriously disturbed individual who messes with people using creepy letters. But digging into his twisted messages, they’re realizing this might be bigger than just one person. It looks like there could be a whole network of killers involved, and someone’s pulling all the strings. I need to know who’s in charge!

Will Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Incorporate Any Elements From the Jessica Jones Comic?

Marvel strategically timed the launch of the new Jessica Jones comic series to coincide with the premiere of the Disney+ show Daredevil: Born Again, hoping to leverage the excitement surrounding her return.

Although the comic isn’t set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s a chance the two could have some connections. For instance, the latest comics confirm Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are married – a pairing that’s happened before in Marvel comics and may happen again in the future.

It’s unclear if Mike Colter will reprise his role as Luke Cage in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. However, even if he doesn’t appear on screen, the show could still portray Jessica Jones as being married to him – his physical presence isn’t necessary for that storyline.

Jessica might also be a mother, potentially to a child named Danielle. This likely hinges on her relationship with Luke – whether they are married. However, Marvel Studios isn’t limited to that scenario and could introduce a different child for her, regardless of her marital status with Luke.

I’m really hoping they pull some of the stuff from the recent comics into the MCU, and one thing that would be amazing is if they showed Jessica Jones struggling a bit. I’ve read that she actually tried to start her own detective agency and it totally flopped! I think Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again would be the perfect place to explain that – it would give her character so much more depth and explain where she’s at when we see her again.
