10 Maps Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s Post-Launch Content Needs

The campaign of Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set during the time of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. This might limit the planets and race tracks included in the game, but future downloadable content could potentially expand beyond that specific time period.

The reveal trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer briefly showed off some of the race locations, including the new planets Sentinel One and Lantaana, along with Jakku, Ando Prime, and Tatooine. It would be amazing to race again on Mos Espa’s Boonta Eve Classic track, but there are many other great planets that could be added as downloadable content after the game launches.

Mon Cala

The planet Mon Cala from Star Wars, a world covered in ocean and inhabited by the Mon Calamari and Quarren species, would make a fantastic racing track for a Star Wars: Galactic Racer game. It could be designed like the Orotoru G’am course from Star Wars: Racer Revenge, and include stunning underwater sections where players speed through coral reefs and kelp forests.

As a big Star Wars fan, I’d love to see the planet Dac featured in a future game! It would be so cool if they showed it as it looked in the Galactic Racer sequel, or even how it appeared during The Clone Wars. Either way, bringing in that prequel-era feel would be amazing and really hit that nostalgia button for long-time fans like me.

Hoth

Hoth, the icy planet in Star Wars, isn’t very diverse compared to other planets in the series, much like Kamino. Despite its harsh, snow-covered environment, it’s the setting for one of the most memorable battles in Star Wars: Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back.

A racetrack set on the ice planet Hoth would instantly appeal to Star Wars fans, letting players race past iconic wreckage like fallen AT-ATs and through the tight spaces of Echo Base. Imagine speeding by tauntauns and even catching a glimpse of wampas in the distance, all while racing through a snowstorm!

Coruscant (And/Or Nar Shaddaa)

In the world of Star Wars, Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa represent opposite ends of the same type of planet-wide city. Coruscant is a bright, massive city covering an entire planet, and was the center of galactic government and the Jedi Order. Nar Shaddaa, on the other hand, is a similarly large, but grimy and neon-lit moon, notorious as a hub for criminal activity.

Both locations would be fantastic as racetracks in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. However, since they’re quite similar, it’s unlikely both would be included. Still, they both offer stunning views that would look great in the game, especially with the improved graphics in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Dathomir

As a huge Star Wars fan, I’ve always been captivated by Dathomir. Shows like The Clone Wars, Jedi: Fallen Order, and Ahsoka really bring this blood-red, mystical planet to life. It’s such a unique and memorable place in the Star Wars universe. Honestly, even though it wouldn’t be practical for a podracing track, I’d love to see more of it – the atmosphere is just that good!

It’s still unclear how the different environments will impact races in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. But it would be really cool if those environments could actively interfere with players – imagine Nightsister zombies or Nightbrothers jumping onto hovercrafts during a race! Hopefully, Tatooine will feature similar interactions, like Tusken Raiders attacking racers as they speed by.

Scarif

The planet Scarif, featured in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the Star Wars Battlefront game, is both stunningly beautiful and deeply sad. Its peaceful, tropical beaches and sparkling waters are a stark contrast to the harsh Imperial control that dominates it.

While Scarif isn’t the most complex racetrack you could imagine – unless the Star Wars: Galactic Racer game took some creative license – simply racing along its beaches on a straightforward course would be fantastic. It would be great to see this unique planet featured more, especially considering its destruction by the Death Star. Even better would be a track that shows what remains of the planet after the blast, if that’s realistically possible.

Kashyyyk

Despite appearing in relatively few movies and TV shows, the planet Kashyyyk from Star Wars is instantly recognizable. It’s been featured more often in video games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the Star Wars Battlefront series, The Force Unleashed, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In fact, it only appears in the film Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith and the TV series The Bad Batch.

This location would be a perfect fit for a future video game, potentially featuring a racetrack that climbs through massive treetop canopies. Imagine racing along the beach where a key battle from the Clone Wars happened, speeding under platforms where Yoda, Wookiees, and clone troopers are still fighting droids – it would be an incredibly exciting experience.

Felucia

The planet Felucia from Star Wars is known for its unique, bright, and see-through plants. Adding some of Felucia’s colorful environment to Star Wars: Galactic Racer – especially since two of its planets are mostly empty, brown deserts – and including its dangerous jungle creatures would make the game much more exciting and scary.

Felucia is a visually stunning planet, and a new Star Wars: Galactic Racer game could really capture that. It could even show players the exciting battles that took place there during the Clone Wars, bringing back memories of that era.

Bracca

Bracca, a planet featured in the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is essentially a massive scrapyard. A potential racetrack could take players speeding through and around the remains of huge, dismantled spaceships that have accumulated there, offering a thrilling experience.

A new Star Wars: Galactic Racer game could showcase a wide variety of ships from the prequel trilogy, even those that are old, broken, or salvaged. For a fun surprise, the game could even include a cameo from Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan, as he appeared when he was a member of the Scrapper Guild and wore a poncho.

Bespin

The planet Bespin in Star Wars is incredibly impressive – a rare gas giant topped by the iconic Cloud City, which appears in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Both Bespin and Cloud City would make a stunning and varied setting for the Star Wars: Galactic Racer game.

Creating a designated racing track would allow hovercraft to compete in the air. Alternatively, a unique game mode set on Bespin could let players race cloud cars freely, without needing a traditional track.

Naboo

As a huge Star Wars fan, I always thought Naboo was one of the coolest planets introduced in the prequels. It’s really stuck with people, and I’ve noticed it popping up in a bunch of other Star Wars films and shows ever since!

  • Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace
  • Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones
  • Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith
  • Star Wars: Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi (added later as an extra scene)
  • Star Wars: The Clone Wars
  • Andor: A Star Wars Story
  • Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

As a Star Wars fan and gamer, Naboo is just iconic, and a huge part of that is Theed. Imagine racing around that gorgeous city and palace – it would be amazing! A track there could even take us back to that epic battle from The Phantom Menace, with the humans and Gungans fighting together. There are tons of cool planets in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, but honestly, Naboo feels like the perfect fit.
