9 Must-Watch Netflix Original Films Coming In 2026

As a movie critic, I’m always keeping an eye on what Netflix is up to, and let me tell you, they consistently deliver films that everyone’s talking about. 2026 looks to be another big year for them – they’ve got some really promising original movies scheduled to drop before 2027, and I’m expecting some major hits. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic year for Netflix releases.

Netflix has a lot planned for 2026, including a fresh take on a well-known series, continuing stories from two favorite TV shows in movie form, a documentary about a legendary band, and a much-awaited continuation of an existing film – plus many other exciting projects.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

It’s difficult to imagine a Netflix original film releasing in 2026 that people are anticipating more than Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The Peaky Blinders TV series received excellent reviews and became even more popular after it started streaming on Netflix.

The series finale did well and hinted at future stories, and now we’re getting one! Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man picks up where things left off, continuing to follow Thomas Shelby. He’s currently writing a book while still dealing with the grief of losing his daughter, Ruby.

The movie centers around Thomas’s return home after years in exile during World War II, and the challenges he now faces. While the story is compelling by itself, the addition of talented new actors like Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan elevates it to something truly promising. It will be available to stream on Netflix starting March 20th.

BTS: The Return

BTS, the world’s most popular K-pop group, is finally coming back. They took a break in 2022 so each member could fulfill their required 18 months of military service in South Korea.

I’m so excited! After finishing their break, the group is finally coming back with a new album, and it’s going to be huge. It’s called Arirang and drops on March 20, 2026. They’re doing a special Netflix event with a live performance the next day, but the real treat for me is the movie coming out a week after that!

On March 27th, Netflix will release BTS: The Return, a documentary showing the creation of their song Arirang. The film promises a look at how the members of BTS reunited and continued working as global superstars.

11817

There isn’t a lot of information available about 11817 yet. It’s a science fiction horror film directed by Louis Leterrier, known for directing movies like The Incredible Hulk, Now You See Me, and Fast X.

11817 centers around a family of four who find themselves trapped in their house, unable to get out. They have to fight to survive, facing a mysterious danger outside and running out of supplies.

The premise of the film is captivating, and the talented cast makes it even more promising. Greta Lee and Wagner Moura will star, both having recently delivered outstanding performances in Past Lives and The Secret Agent. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Apex

Charlize Theron is one of the best actors working today, and she truly shines in action films. She’s been fantastic in movies like Atomic Blonde, The Old Guard, and as part of the Fast and Furious series.

Apex is a new addition to the survival action thriller genre, but with a unique angle. The story centers on a rock climber who becomes the target of a ruthless hunter while climbing in a remote wilderness area.

The film creates a thrilling chase, with Charlize Theron’s character needing to be smarter than a deadly opponent and rely on her skills to survive. Taron Egerton will play the hunter, and Eric Bana is also part of the cast. Apex will be available on Netflix starting April 24th.

Enola Holmes 3

Although Stranger Things is likely to be Millie Bobby Brown’s most famous work, she’s also found success with another series. Starting in 2020, she began playing the main character in Enola Holmes.

These movies are based on the Enola Holmes Mysteries books and follow Enola Holmes, Sherlock Holmes’s younger sister, as she solves her own cases. Both films were very popular on Netflix and got positive reviews. The first movie has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the second one even higher, at 93%.

Currently, Enola Holmes 3 is scheduled to come out in 2026, but that date isn’t final. What we do know is that the original stars—including Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge—will be back, so viewers can expect more of the same enjoyable characters and stories.

Here Comes The Flood

A strong cast can really make a movie seem appealing, and that’s exactly what Here Comes the Flood delivers. You’ll be interested before the story even begins, simply because of the talented actors involved.

Denzel Washington stars in the film, joined by Robert Pattinson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Danai Gurira. The impressive cast is further strengthened by Justin Kirk, Sean Harris, and Moisés Arias, making it one of the best ensembles of the year.

I’m really excited about this new movie, Here Comes the Flood! It’s a heist thriller written by Simon Kinberg and directed by Fernando Meirelles – a fantastic combination. From what I understand, the story revolves around a bank teller, a security guard, and a really clever thief, and it sounds like everyone’s trying to outsmart each other. Sadly, we don’t know who the actors are yet, and there’s no release date announced, but I’m definitely keeping an eye out for more information!

Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew

Many people remember reading The Chronicles of Narnia when they were children. The books were incredibly popular, and Disney’s movie adaptations of the first three stories were generally well-received by both audiences and critics.

Most franchises eventually start over with new casts and stories, but Narnia is taking a different approach. The new film, Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, continues the story after the original trilogy. Notably, Greta Gerwig is now writing and directing the movie, bringing a fresh perspective to the series.

Greta Gerwig is having a fantastic run with films like Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie. Her next project, Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, starring Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, and Daniel Craig, looks set to continue that success. The movie will be in theaters November 26th, and will be available on Netflix starting December 25th.

Heartstopper Forever

Just like the popular show Peaky Blinders, the heartwarming series Heartstopper is planning a movie to conclude the story in 2026. Based on the beloved graphic novels, Heartstopper is known as one of Netflix’s most charming and feel-good shows.

Heartstopper tells the sweet love story of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, two classmates who develop feelings for each other. The show is known for being incredibly touching and has received a lot of positive attention.

Heartstopper Forever is planned as the final installment in the series. It will cover the story from the sixth volume of the graphic novels, bringing the story to a close. Although initial plans for a fourth season were altered to a movie due to lower viewership, fans are still eagerly anticipating its release.

The Adventures Of Cliff Booth

Quentin Tarantino rarely makes sequels – even Kill Bill was essentially one long story shown in two parts. However, his new film, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is a spin-off connected to his previous movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I was so excited to hear Brad Pitt is returning for another movie! He was amazing in the 2019 film, and rightfully won an Oscar for his role as Cliff Booth. It’s cool that Timothy Olyphant is back too – I remember him playing James Stacy in that one. We don’t know when it’s coming out yet, but I’m already looking forward to it!

Details are still limited about The Adventures of Cliff Booth, but the project is generating a lot of buzz. David Fincher is directing, and the cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan, and other talented actors.
