A computer desk designed with cats in mind is becoming popular online. It lets people work without their feline friends getting in the way.
Japanese design company Bibilab created this desk to solve a common problem: cats interrupting work or play. They call it ‘cat harassment’ – when cats walk across keyboards, sit in front of screens, or generally demand attention while people are trying to focus.
To solve the common issue of cats wanting attention while you work, this desk has several features designed to keep both you and your cat content.
Desk keeps your cat close & your gaming sessions safe
Though it appears to be a regular desk, this workstation includes a built-in, two-level cat condo, giving your cat a special place of their own.
The cat tree also features a secret tunnel in the back, perfect for cats who love cozy, enclosed spaces. It gives them a safe place to hide away without bothering their owners.
Okay, so this desk has this really cute little “peek-out hole” – basically, it lets my cat stick their head through so they can watch what I’m doing! Or, you know, bat at my hands while I’m trying to work. Honestly, it’s perfect because I need to be judged by my cat while I’m getting destroyed in Call of Duty, or when they silently disapprove of my Steam game spending. It’s the little things, right?
One of the best features, and definitely the most adorable, is a special pathway that lets your cat climb right from their cozy house onto your lap. Winning a game like CS2 or Warzone feels even better when you’ve got a purring cat to cuddle!
Although this desk is designed to address the issue of cats interfering with gaming, it’s not a new problem. In 2023, a Twitch streamer was heartbroken when their cat accidentally erased all their progress in the game Hitman 3.
