The Academy Awards are happening in Los Angeles this weekend, but with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, security will be heightened. Around 1,000 security officers will be present to ensure everyone’s safety.
This Sunday, March 15th, the Oscars will be presented at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Conan O’Brien will host the show, which begins at 4pm Pacific Time / 7pm Eastern Time.
Okay, so everyone’s predicting ‘Sinners’ and ‘One Battle After Another’ are going to dominate at the Oscars for Best Picture. And when it comes to the acting awards, all signs point to Jessie Buckley, Michael B. Jordan, Amy Madigan, and Sean Penn being the top contenders. I’m really hoping one of those movies – or actors – takes home the gold!
Because of the current situation in the Middle East, security will be increased at the event.

ABC News reports that the FBI has alerted California law enforcement agencies to a potential threat from Iran. The warning suggests Iran might respond to U.S. actions by sending drones to attack the West Coast.
Last month, we received intelligence suggesting that Iran may attempt a surprise attack using drones launched from a ship off the U.S. coast. This potential attack, planned for around early February 2026, would target unspecified locations in California if the U.S. were to strike Iran first.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the Academy Awards producers have promised to take every possible step to keep this Sunday’s Hollywood ceremony safe.

Los Angeles police said Wednesday that around 1,000 security guards will be working at the Dolby Theater, along with police officers, cameras, drones, SWAT teams, and dogs trained to detect bombs.
Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the broadcast, announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department are working closely with them.
The show needs to run flawlessly, but more importantly, we want everyone – whether they’re attending, watching, or even just fans outside – to feel safe, protected, and welcome. As the production team, it’s our responsibility to ensure that happens.
We take this very seriously and feel a deep sense of responsibility for it, which is why it’s so important to us.
