Back in 2011, Maya Rudolph was visibly pregnant at the premiere of Bridesmaids. Her child born around that time is now old enough to have their own social media account! This year marks the 15th anniversary of the hit movie, and with Rose Byrne receiving an Oscar nomination and Maya Rudolph expected to attend a PTA event, the Academy Awards decided it was the perfect time to bring the Bridesmaids cast back together. During a press conference on Wednesday, Oscars executive producers Katy Mullan and Raj Kapoor announced that the movie’s best friends would be having a vow renewal ceremony during the show. Kapoor confirmed a long-rumored reunion, calling it “very special.” They also revealed a Marvel reunion and hinted at a surprise appearance from “an extraterrestrial,” which Mullan playfully confirmed to be Alf.
So, who from the movie is expected to attend the Oscars? It’s likely everyone featured on the promotional poster will be there – including Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. But what about the male cast members? Melissa McCarthy will probably bring her husband, Ben Falcone, and we’re wondering if Chris O’Dowd and Jon Hamm will attend.
