In fact, it seems pretty likely he might reprise the role soon! I mean, he was the character for a while, starring in his own Netflix series and popping up in The Defenders saga – a lot of fans still really connect with his take on the character.

Of all the Marvel shows on Netflix, Iron Fist wasn’t very popular with viewers. However, many fans still think Luke Cage could be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if given another chance. Although a new Iron Fist has now appeared in the MCU, Luke Cage might still show up in a future Marvel series, possibly alongside some familiar faces.

This series delved into the history of Wakanda within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and introduced Jorani, the new Iron Fist, voiced by Jona Xiao. This new character won’t affect any future plans for Danny Rand’s Iron Fist in the MCU.

While Marvel could choose a new actor to play Danny Rand (Iron Fist), I believe Finn Jones isn’t finished with the role. He’s been hinting at a return on social media, and with Mike Colter (Luke Cage) recently saying he’s been in discussions with Marvel, it seems possible the former heroes could reunite.

As a huge MCU fan, I’m really hoping we see the Defenders team back together, and it sounds like it could actually happen by 2026! With the upcoming season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is building a team to go after Kingpin, and Krysten Ritter is already confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones. It would make so much sense if Luke Cage and Iron Fist joined the fight too – it would fit perfectly with where Marvel seems to be going, and honestly, it would be an amazing way to bring Iron Fist back into the fold with a really strong storyline.
