WWE 2K26 patches Ringside pass after players kept beating up Eric Bischoff to unlock everything fast

WWE 2K26 has removed a popular shortcut that let players quickly force Eric Bischoff to submit during the Ringside Pass challenges. This change prevents players from unlocking all items at an accelerated pace.

WWE 2K26 features a new system called Ringside Pass. It’s a battlepass that lets players earn rewards like wrestlers, arenas, and other items by completing challenges.

Okay, so these Ringside Passes are gonna run me $9.99 each, and they’ve got 40 levels to work through. You level up by earning RXP just by playing matches, which is cool. Honestly though, it feels a little too easy to progress – we actually mentioned that in our review, it felt like things unlocked a bit quickly.

Soon after the game came out, players discovered a way to unlock all the content more quickly. They found they could lower the difficulty settings and easily defeat Eric Bischoff in a match, forcing him to submit almost immediately.

Players discovered a way to quickly earn RXP by repeating a certain action, but 2K has now fixed the issue, stating it was an unintended glitch.

WWE 2K26 patches exploit that let players complete Ringside pass quickly

On March 11th, 2K announced updates to its new pass system and admitted it’s still working out some kinks, as it’s a recently launched feature.

We’ve noticed players aren’t having the experience we hoped for, so we’re making some adjustments.

From now on, you’ll get RXP for playing custom matches, and we’ve increased the amount you earn by 20%. You’ll receive 30 RXP for finishing a match, with an extra 105 RXP if you win.

However, if a match is completed in under a minute, they won’t get the win bonus.

Matches finishing in under 60 seconds will award players completion experience, but won’t trigger win bonuses. The developers have noticed players are quickly winning matches and asked that they allow opponents a chance to compete, referencing a recent exploit where players were able to win very quickly.

This update should make unlocking stuff feel way more natural as I play, which is awesome. But, if I’m impatient, I can still skip tiers with a purchase, though I already need the Ringside pass just to get started with that option.

Basically, the developers and I are hoping these updates let people play the game in all sorts of different ways, and that everyone continues to have a blast and feel like their time is well spent. They want to keep things fun and make sure winning feels good!

WWE 2K26 is out now on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
