As a long-time Honkai: Star Rail fanatic, I can’t help but feel like a kid at Christmas with the recent pet system leak! Ever since I started my journey in Vandora, I’ve been yearning for a constant companion, someone to share the adventures with beyond just Topaz and Numby. I mean, don’t get me wrong, they are great, but I’d love some more adorable creatures to accompany me on my travels.
A fresh leak about Honkai: Star Rail suggests the possibility of a charming new pet joining us in Version 2.5. Although animals have occasionally appeared in Honkai: Star Rail up until now, they haven’t been companions players could keep and traverse with outside specific quests. However, rumors are circulating about an upcoming pet system that could potentially change this.
In contrast to games like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai: Star Rail does not offer a pet system. While the game features friendly NPC animals such as Asta’s dog Peppy and Tingyun’s bionic dog Diting, these companions are only temporary during specific missions. Characters like Ruan Mei’s pets or the Warp Trotter remain stationary and do not join in on adventures. The closest equivalent to a pet system in Honkai: Star Rail is the characters Topaz and Numby, who have Numby always by their side in the open world. However, none of the other characters share this feature. Fans have longed for a pet system due to the appeal of cute companions like Diting and Peppy, and recent leaks suggest that their wishes might be granted soon.
According to a recent disclosure from trusted source Sakura Haven, there’s a delightful new pet in town named Tuskpir. This furry friend looks like a miniature tapir, but with a unique pink coat and wind-like patterns all over its body. A leaked video shows the pet strolling alongside the player as a friendly companion. The video also reveals that Tuskpir has two adorable idle poses: it dozes off cutely on its side or inhales air playfully.
Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Long-awaited Pet System
Based on an earlier reveal by BabyMonsterTeam, they had also showcased images of a pet resembling a tapir, and mentioned that unlike Peppy and Diting, this new creature was kept in a distinct folder labeled “Pet.” If this feature is included in the final release, the Tuskpir pet would likely debut in the 2.5 update scheduled for September 10th. Other titles under HoYoverse offer engaging pet systems, such as Bangboos supporting players in combat within Zenless Zone Zero, and floating companions like Seelies in Genshin Impact. Many Honkai: Star Rail enthusiasts are now anticipating the game to incorporate similar features.
In the upcoming 2.5 update for “Honkai: Star Rail,” three new playable characters will be introduced: Feixiao, Lingsha, and Moze. Notably, Feixiao is expected to become one of the top Wind-type Damage Per Second (DPS) characters in the game. Players eager to acquire her can look forward to an abundance of Stellar Jades during this update. Meanwhile, fans of “Honkai: Star Rail” are currently immersed in the ongoing 2.4 update, which includes a fresh map, new characters, and Trailblaze Missions.
