Resident Evil Requiem effectively combines psychological horror, intense gore, and action-packed gunfights, making it a truly captivating experience. If you enjoy being scared, you’ll find plenty of terrifying moments throughout the game, from facing a new, relentless enemy to navigating chilling, dark environments.

Horror often relies on shocking visuals, and many viewers enjoy seeing intense action. Resident Evil: Requiem delivers plenty of that, and we’ve collected the most memorable and gruesome moments for those who crave it.

A bunch of spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem ahead.

8. Saving Grace

For a Brief Moment

Grace is immediately thrown into the terrifying world of Resident Evil, barely having time to understand what’s happening. She’s constantly under attack and just wants to find a way to survive and escape.

A particularly shocking moment early in the game happens when Grace tries to run from her pursuer, only to be violently pulled back. Leon intervenes, using a powerful attack called Requiem to drive the enemy away.

Okay, so the Requiem ability is brutal. Seriously, watching it tear through The Girl? It just shreds right through her, like, completely opens up her skull. And then, get this, her eyeball is just…hanging there from her body. I know it sounds awful, but honestly? It felt so good. It was a really satisfying moment, seeing her go down like that.

7. Defeating Chunk

A Solid Explosion

Okay, so listen up, because this boss is brutal. The second you try to fight Chunk – this huge monster wandering around the place – you’re going to be taking damage, seriously. But don’t worry, I figured out how to take him down. You need a hemolytic injector, and then just hit him with a few shots from Requiem, and he’ll go down. It’s tough, but doable!

Defeating this creature results in a gruesome but satisfying sight: it stumbles forward a few steps before erupting in painful blood blisters. These blisters quickly burst, and blood spills onto the floor.

Okay, finally took down Chunk! Seriously, what a mess – blood everywhere. But honestly, it’s such a relief to have that thing gone. Plus, I got a cool charm as a reward, so that’s a nice bonus.

6. Chainsaw Massacre

A Second Opinion

One of the most memorable parts of Resident Evil for me was finally controlling Leon, especially when the game throws you right into the action with a terrifying scene: a zombie with a chainsaw brutally attacks a woman right before your eyes.

If that wasn’t violent enough, you can use a chainsaw to fight off the many zombies filling the room. This demonstrates why Leon is considered one of the best.

This scene is followed by Grace being saved, so you really get two great scenes back to back.

5. Nose Ripped Off

Not Very Romantic

For some players, the initial experience of controlling Leon is quite disturbing. You first encounter him as Gideon walks off, spreading the infection to people throughout the city.

The scene opens with a woman pleading for assistance, but she suddenly transforms into a man. She kisses him, then violently attacks him, biting off his nose.

The camera focuses on his face, revealing a gruesome injury – blood pouring from the place where his nose once was. It’s a truly painful sight.

4. The Meat Grinder

So Much Blood

If you enjoy gore, the meat grinder section of Resident Evil Requiem is hard to beat. You enter the area and immediately see bodies falling into a massive pool of blood.

Once the blood is removed, you fall into a meat grinder, which unexpectedly starts up. From there, you get the darkly satisfying feeling of forcing zombies into the machine and watching them get torn apart.

Soon after, you’ll navigate a river of blood, immersing Grace in it as you enter the next part of the game.

3. Alyssa Slashed Down

Like a Slasher Film

This scene is deeply disturbing and frightening. For the first time, Grace is genuinely terrified by a memory – specifically, the moment her mother is violently attacked before her eyes.

As Alyssa Ashcroft guides Grace away from the Wrenwood Hotel, she shoots a man. Just when it seems the danger has passed, the same man unexpectedly reappears and fatally stabs Alyssa in the neck with a machete.

The scene is reminiscent of a horror movie, and fans of gore will likely find it satisfying.

2. The Girl Eating

She’s Messy

You regain consciousness in the care facility and manage to break free. Attempting to escape, things initially seem promising, but your luck changes when opening a door reveals a corpse.

Suddenly, a huge hand seized the body. It was “The Girl,” and she unleashed a terrifying spectacle, tearing the body apart with her teeth. Blood streamed from her mouth, splattering onto your face.

While not the most violent scene, this moment strongly establishes the game’s atmosphere and is therefore a standout, deserving its high ranking.

1. Blood Vat

Too Much Blood?

Okay, so the absolute craziest part of the game for me was hitting the underground lab. Just when you think you’ve got things handled, Gideon pulls a fast one and activates the self-destruct! Talk about a heart-stopping moment.

Now’s your chance to break free! As you navigate the test chambers, blood spills from broken containers, flooding the facility. And you can use fire extinguishers to make the infected explode in a gruesome, but effective, way.

Nowhere else in the game will you climb an actual waterfall of blood – it’s a perfect moment for anyone who loves intense gore.
