Fans are finally getting a glimpse of the highly anticipated Golden Land Arc, with confirmation that it’s officially in development.
Fans are incredibly excited for the Golden Land Arc in the manga Frieren, widely considered one of its best storylines. Since it follows the Divine Revolte Arc, many hoped to see it adapted in Season 2 of the anime. However, recent rumors suggest Season 2 will only have 10 episodes, leading fans to believe an adaptation of the Golden Land Arc is unlikely in the near future. Previously, there had been no indication the anime would cover this arc – until very recently.
A new scene in Frieren Season 2, Episode 7, which wasn’t part of the original manga, has given fans their first glimpse of the upcoming Golden Land Arc, confirming it will happen soon.
Frieren’s Latest Episode Teases The Golden Land Arc Through an Anime-Only Scene
The Frieren anime has stayed very faithful to the original story, making even small changes noticeable. In Season 2, Episode 7, the character Divine Revolte appears, and his introduction closely follows the manga. The scene shows him questioning why humans bother to protect the bodies of those who have died, during a conversation with one of his followers.
The anime closely follows the manga’s dialogue, but a small addition offers fans their first hint about the next story arc. When the young demon asks Divine Revolte about human behavior, he gives the same answer as in the manga: “That’s just how they are. There’s nothing more to it. We don’t need to know why.” However, he then adds something new—information not found in the original manga. Revolte mentions hearing about a strange demon who dedicates time to studying humans.
This unusual demon is likely Solitar, a strong being who teams up with Macht. Like Macht, Solitar wants to learn more about humans, and she studies living creatures to understand how they act. Interestingly, this connection to Solitar isn’t present in the manga, making the anime’s inclusion of this detail more significant.
Frieren’s Highly Anticipated Golden Land Arc Could Be Coming Sooner Than Fans Think
The anime version of Divine Revolte briefly mentions Solitar, but this addition doesn’t really contribute to the current storyline. It seems to be a subtle hint at a future arc, the Golden Land Arc, and mostly serves as a treat for fans who are familiar with the manga. Viewers will likely understand the significance of this reference later on, realizing it was a deliberate nod to the manga’s plot.
That’s what’s so thrilling about this! It proves the creators of Frieren are listening to what fans want, even without officially saying anything yet. They haven’t forgotten the Golden Land Arc and are clearly putting a lot of effort into it. In fact, they’re already building up to it, adding details and backstory well before the arc begins, to make this adaptation everything fans have been hoping for.
This new Easter egg is the first hint we’ve seen of the ‘Golden Land Arc’ in Season 2, but there’s still no official word on when it will be released. Some fans believe it might be released as a series of movies rather than a full anime season, and the short length of Season 2—only 10 episodes—supports that idea. Considering the previous announcement came just before the episode aired, we might see a similar approach when the Golden Land Arc is finally announced.
The creator of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has confirmed that the Golden Land Arc is planned, and fans can trust that this information is accurate – it’s a promise they can rely on.
