Pearl Abyss recently detailed how Crimson Desert will take advantage of the PS5 and PS5 Pro’s features in a new PlayStation Blog post. This includes details about DualSense controller capabilities and support for PSSR technology.
So, I just read the latest news about Crimson Desert, and it’s looking awesome for the PS5 Pro! Apparently, it’ll take full advantage of the upgraded hardware to give us 4K graphics with smoother frame rates. They’re even adding ray tracing, which is super cool. This comes after all those recent trailers showing off the world of Pywel, the combat system, how you level up, what you can do at camp, and who’s voicing the characters. I’m getting really hyped for this game!

Crimson Desert is set to release on March 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

Crimson Desert PS5 and PS5 Pro enhancements
As a huge fan, I’m really excited about how stunning Crimson Desert looks! It’s a massive, beautiful open world, and Pearl Abyss is making the most of the PlayStation 5 and especially the PS5 Pro to deliver incredible visuals, particularly when you’re looking out across the landscape. The PS5’s super-fast SSD is crucial for loading all that world data smoothly, and the developers are really pushing the PS5 Pro’s processing power to make exploring and moving around feel completely seamless. It’s going to look amazing!
Pearl Abyss has optimized Crimson Desert for the PlayStation 5 to maintain its impressive detail and large scale. They achieved this using techniques like Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling, which allow for rendering many elements without sacrificing visual quality. With the recent PS5 Pro upgrade to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), the game can now reach 4K resolution at smoother frame rates, and its ray tracing features create more realistic and natural lighting.
As a fan, I have to say the DualSense controller really elevates the experience, especially during fights! Crimson Desert focuses on making combat feel weighty, and you genuinely feel it thanks to the controller’s haptics. When your sword clashes with an enemy’s, or when you land a big hit, you can feel it in your hands. Even something like pulling back a bowstring feels more intense with the adaptive triggers. It all works together to make you feel more connected to Kliff and gives you crucial feedback during those hectic battles when enemies are swarming you.
