A well-known Jedi from the Star Wars prequels might appear in the second season of Ahsoka. Given that Ahsoka focuses on a former Jedi and Hayden Christensen played a significant part as Anakin Skywalker, it’s clear that classic Star Wars characters are frequently featured in the series.
According to a crew member from the upcoming second season of Ahsoka (via Bespin Bulletin), Ewan McGregor might appear as Obi-Wan Kenobi. The crew member shared a story about being on set and how McGregor allowed him to hold Ahsoka’s lightsaber, strongly suggesting McGregor was indeed present during filming.
Getting to ride in an AT-AT was amazing! I also loved seeing the Imperial Star Destroyers. But a real highlight was when Ewan McGregor let me hold Ahsoka’s lightsaber – that was a truly unforgettable Star Wars moment! 😊

Although it hasn’t been officially announced, many believe Ewan McGregor will appear in Season 2 of Ahsoka. Hayden Christensen is confirmed to return, likely through flashbacks. Sources suggest McGregor will also be introduced via flashbacks, potentially revisiting the Clone Wars era with scenes featuring Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka.
Although Ewan McGregor was likely visiting the set to support his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (who plays Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka), it’s possible he’ll also appear in the show. If so, this would be the first time he and Winstead have worked together on a Star Wars project, and their characters might even share scenes as members of the Rebel alliance.
Season 2 of Ahsoka continues the live-action story of Ahsoka Tano, streaming on Disney+. Starring Rosario Dawson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eman Esfandi, Hayden Christensen, Ivanna Sakhno, and Rory McCann, the new season finds the team scattered across the galaxy. Ahsoka is determined to find her way back and resume the battle against the Empire and its allies. The season is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Potential Role in Ahsoka Season 2

It’s likely Obi-Wan will only appear in flashbacks in the Ahsoka series. These flashbacks could show more of his past with Anakin and Ahsoka during the Clone Wars, when they fought against the Empire. We’ve already seen a glimpse of this in Season 1, Episode 5 – featuring Hayden Christensen as Anakin and Ariana Greenblatt as a young Ahsoka – and Season 2 might explore those times even further.
Fans would be thrilled to potentially see McGregor and Winstead share a scene together in the Star Wars universe. With Winstead set to have a larger role in Season 2, it’s possible she and her fellow characters will encounter a more seasoned Obi-Wan Kenobi, who operated after the Clone Wars.
Although plans for the next season are still developing, casting McGregor would definitely create a lot of excitement for what happens with Ahsoka Tano and her team. Whether he appears in past scenes or as part of the current storyline, his involvement would enhance the growing impact of the Ahsoka series within the Star Wars universe.
