Apple reveals new budget-friendly MacBook Neo in four bright colors

I’m so excited! Apple just revealed the MacBook Neo, and it sounds amazing. It’s their new, more affordable laptop, meant to bring that classic Mac feeling to more people. It’s great to see them making Macs accessible at a lower price!

Apple introduced its most budget-friendly MacBook to date on March 4th. Priced from $599—or $499 for students and educators—the new laptop boasts Apple’s own chip, a vibrant 13-inch Liquid Retina display, and a fresh aluminum design that comes in a variety of colors.

MacBook Neo is available to pre-order now and is set to launch on March 11.

Apple reveals MacBook Neo with A18 Pro and new colorful design

The MacBook Neo has a stunning 13-inch Liquid Retina display that delivers incredibly sharp and vibrant visuals. It boasts a high resolution of 2408 x 1506 pixels, 500 nits of brightness, and the ability to display a billion colors. Apple highlights that this display is brighter and more detailed than those found on many comparable laptops, and it also features a special coating to reduce glare.

This laptop runs on Apple’s powerful A18 Pro chip – the same one used in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. Apple claims it’s up to 50% faster than popular PCs with the newest Intel Core Ultra 5 processor when doing things like browsing the internet.

This lightweight laptop, weighing just 2.7 pounds, features a sturdy aluminum case and comes in four attractive colors: blush, indigo, silver, and citrus.

The MacBook Neo, similar to the MacBook Air, features a built-in 5-core GPU and operates without a fan, making it completely silent. Apple estimates the battery will last up to 16 hours on a single charge.

The new MacBook Neo comes with macOS Tahoe and takes full advantage of Apple Intelligence, with the features built right into the operating system.

According to John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, the new MacBook Neo is designed to be more accessible and affordable, and it represents the unique innovation only Apple can deliver.

Okay, so I just got this new laptop and honestly, it’s a game-changer. It’s built like a tank with this super solid aluminum body, and comes in some really cool colors. The screen? Forget about it – it’s unbelievably crisp and vibrant. It’s seriously fast too, thanks to Apple’s chip. I’ve been playing for hours and the battery still hasn’t died! Plus, the camera, mic, and speakers are top-notch for chatting with my squad. The keyboard and trackpad feel amazing, and macOS is just so smooth and easy to use. Honestly, I’ve tried a lot of laptops, and this one is in a league of its own.

Apple recently announced another affordable option: the iPhone 17e. Revealed on March 2nd, this new iPhone offers a more budget-friendly choice for customers who want to save money.
