Love Is Blind Season-Finale Recap: Next Steps

It’s finally wedding week on Love Is Blind! By now, many of the couples from Ohio are stuck in repetitive cycles of the same issues. Honestly, we’ve already seen enough of Alex’s complicated explanations to Ashley and the back-and-forth about kids between Emma and Mike. As viewers, we have a pretty good idea of whether these couples should tie the knot, so now it’s time to find out if they actually do.

I’m confused by the wedding venue – it requires the women to climb stairs in their dresses if they don’t get married, which seems odd. Perhaps the show is trying to symbolize the challenges of marriage with this detail? In the end, two of the five couples decided to get married, while the other three realized they weren’t compatible.

Emma and Mike

Okay, so the proposal… honestly, Emma’s drawn-out “yes” felt a bit manipulative, creating unnecessary drama. But Mike definitely got a little payback with his heartbreaking “no,” which started with a painful admission of love. He explained his decision came down to a fundamental disagreement about having children – he needs to know she’s on the same page, and didn’t want to risk marrying someone who might later decide she didn’t want a family. Afterwards, Emma confessed she only said yes because she couldn’t bear to say no, which is a very different thing from actually being thrilled about it. Everyone – them and both sets of parents – agreed there was genuine love there, but ultimately, they just wanted different things. It was a sweet, sad realization that sometimes love isn’t enough.

Emma seems to be the most surprised by how things turned out. When Mike checks in with her, she admits she can picture a future with him, but with reservations. She later shares privately that she believes love is a decision, and she hoped that would be enough. Mike, for his part, feels he would have committed if Emma had clearly stated she wanted children with him.

This wedding lacked a strong emotional impact, likely because the issues between Emma and Mike seemed to have been brewing since the beginning. Emma may be surprised that Mike isn’t willing to compromise on having children, but he’s been fairly consistent about his stance. Their final discussion didn’t offer much closure, as it wasn’t obvious if either of them even wanted to continue the relationship. Ultimately, it was a good decision for the show to eliminate this couple early on.

Amber and Jordan

I’m so happy to hear Jordan has finally met Amber’s sweet daughter, Emma! It sounds like they really hit it off. Amber’s feeling optimistic enough to ask Emma to be a flower girl, but she’s also a little anxious that Jordan might change his mind about the wedding. I really hope everything works out for them!

The show highlights Jordan’s anxieties by cutting to a shot of him looking stressed. He’s holding onto a beer for comfort and admits to his family that he and Amber haven’t decided where they’ll live, even though they live an hour away from each other. He’s hesitant to leave the city because he wants Emma to stay in her current school. His family points out they’ve already talked about possible solutions, and Jordan feels slightly relieved when they offer a toast to his future happiness. However, he quickly panics again in the car, openly telling his sister he’s lost and doesn’t know what to do. She encourages him to follow his feelings as he nervously walks towards the wedding.

Throughout the day, Amber consistently expressed confidence in saying “yes” to Jordan. Her vows highlighted how Jordan helped her grow as a person, praising his positive and kind nature. However, immediately after saying “I do,” she added that she would understand if he had any reservations. While it was disheartening to hear her say that, it seems she did so out of love – giving him an easy way to back out if he was concerned about hurting her, and relieving some of the pressure created by the show’s ultimatum. This might also be her way of preparing herself emotionally, especially considering her brother unexpectedly told her right before the ceremony that he’d be surprised if Jordan was truly ready for marriage.

When Jordan announced he wanted to marry Amber, a wave of surprise went through the wedding guests – they were waiting for him to change his mind, but he didn’t. As soon as he confirmed his commitment to the officiant, the guests erupted in applause, clearly taken aback. He’d built up so much anticipation that it felt like a powerful moment, sweeping everyone away. Amber and Jordan kissed before the officiant even prompted them to, and Emma started crying. Later, Amber admitted she hadn’t expected Jordan to say yes, but she told Emma he’s a wonderful person.

Amber described their wedding day as a fairytale, but both she and Jordan know the real challenges will begin after the celebrations. With a child together, how their relationship is doing at their next school reunion will really tell the full story of their love.

Brittany and Devonta

We’re at the couple’s apartment, which immediately suggests something’s wrong. It turns out Devonta has called off the wedding. He realizes how devastating it would be for Brittany to be turned down in front of her family, who traveled specifically for the event and know how much she wants to get married. He says he’s unsure if he can give Brittany the love she deserves.

From what he’s shared, Devonta’s biggest concern seems to be that Brittany is more focused on getting married in general than on marrying him. He points to her having already shopped for a wedding dress before being on Love Is Blind, but there are other examples too. Brittany offered to be intimate to strengthen their connection even though she’d previously said she wanted to wait, she accepted his quiet nature despite wanting more affection, and she was even willing to reconsider a pre-nup to get him to commit. Devonta admits he tends to pull away when he feels smothered, and describes Brittany as being overly attached – almost like she’s constantly following him.

Brittany is trying to stay positive by believing that just because things aren’t happening right now, doesn’t mean they won’t happen in the future. She’s convinced they’ll eventually get married and have children right away. It’s striking how confident she is, especially when compared to Devonta’s doubts in his own interviews. The show’s producers even asked her what she thought he’d think of her wedding dress, and she happily described how it would look on her, completely unaware of how worried he was. This episode will likely be difficult for her to watch. While they did share a kiss and some laughs after he said he’d be in touch, Devonta never confirmed or supported her hopeful statements about their future together.

Devonta feels good about where things stand today. He admits that two years ago, he would have likely entered a marriage that would have ended in resentment and divorce. Brittany, on the other hand, is starting to question things. She’s felt a bit foolish at times and wonders if Devonta’s lack of enthusiasm – and not introducing her to his mother – means he’s just going through the motions. She really needs to listen to her gut! Instead, she’s hoping things will work out if she just gives it time. It’s understandable to be afraid of starting over with someone new, but isn’t it equally scary to marry someone who doesn’t seem to want you? The show really drives the point home with a song about always being there for someone as Devonta drives away from Brittany. It’s pretty clear: he’s not into her!

Ashley and Alex

Okay, so Ashley just changed into her dress and confessed something pretty vulnerable. She admitted she doesn’t think she’s usually Alex’s type, but she’s hoping to prove him wrong tonight! Honestly, she said she doesn’t even care if other people don’t like her – all that matters is whether she wants to be with them. She’s really putting it all out there, saying someone’s going to be ‘the one’ for her, and if that’s Alex, great… but she’d be totally shocked if he actually said yes. It’s a crazy way to go into a wedding, and Alex is just as all over the place. He’s trying to act confident, but he’s going hard with the soccer analogies, even for him!

When the officiant dramatically asks if it’s time to decide if love is truly blind, Alex is prompted to answer first. He begins to shake his head, but Ashley interrupts, saying she already knows his answer: he won’t choose her, and she won’t choose him either. This explains why she described him as simply a close friend from their time in the pods, as things changed once they left. Ashley felt he put in no effort to build a connection, lacked intimacy, and didn’t show any curiosity towards her. She also believes he wasn’t honest with her. She then expresses pride in realizing she deserves better. Alex acknowledges her decision but partially disagrees with her view of his character. Ultimately, Ashley considers saying no to him a personal victory.

Ashley seems unconcerned with the situation, but it’s still uncomfortable watching the brides return upstairs when things don’t work out. It’s unclear if she’s even listening to what Alex and his family are saying. Alex tells his mom he’s not upset about Ashley calling him a liar, because he knows his own character. While he claims he doesn’t hold any grudges, he definitely doesn’t want to check on how she’s doing. He admits he was surprised by what he sees as her attempt to take control and suggests she was already looking for a way to end the relationship, hinting at issues in her past. Ultimately, Alex and his friends celebrate his honesty, which is a bit ironic.

Ashley realizes Alex is likely upset she publicly called him out, especially in front of his family and friends, but she doesn’t seem to regret it, stating the day was all about her. That really captures the essence of the whole event. If she’d been considering their relationship, she wouldn’t have gone through with the ceremony – she clearly didn’t expect him to say yes, and her reasons for rejecting him existed long before they left the pods. It seems odd she didn’t just end things before the wedding. This felt less about her relationship with Alex and more about Ashley’s own journey and self-respect. After dealing with difficult past partners, perhaps publicly stating what she wouldn’t tolerate was a way for her to find closure.

I was surprised that a potentially powerful moment didn’t quite land. I was happy when Keya realized her worth and ended things with Kevan, but something felt off. Maybe it was Ashley not letting Alex respond – it almost seemed like she was trying to preemptively embarrass him, which took away from the positive message. Alex says he’s fine with how things played out and is looking forward to the future, and Ashley feels she’s gained clarity on what she wants in a relationship. It makes me wonder if either of them would be a good fit for Perfect Match, or if we’ll see them on another reality show soon.

Christine and Vic

Did anyone doubt Christine and Vic would make it to the wedding? They seem incredibly secure in their relationship. Christine says she hasn’t had any worries since Vic expressed his deep connection with her in the pods, telling her he sees her even when he can’t physically see her. They appreciate each other’s imperfections – she even affectionately calls him her “Build-a-Bear” husband! And so far, we haven’t seen them have a single argument.

Vic is very lucky to have the full support of his family and friends. Even his sister, who usually doesn’t trust people easily, approves of Christine and will actually be performing the wedding ceremony! His mother, Victoria, was also very impressed with Christine after meeting her and receiving a letter. The biggest concern from Vic’s friends is jokingly whether Christine can keep up with him on the dance floor, but Vic has promised to teach her the Electric Slide.

During their vows, Vic told Christine she understands him like no one else. Christine described their love as peaceful, easygoing, deeply satisfying, and full of passion. It feels like the show’s editors are trying to create drama, but I’m certain Christine didn’t hesitate at all before saying, “I do.” When it was Vic’s turn, he told Christine she was extraordinary, his soulmate, and then said, “I do.” They were overjoyed, both privately after the ceremony and while celebrating with family and friends at the reception. (And yes, Christine was dancing!)

Earlier, Christine sent Vic a package, but he wouldn’t reveal what was inside on camera, saying it was a private matter between them. When a producer mentioned they’d be using the package later, they both just laughed, and we still have no idea what’s in it. Vic did mention that while Christine’s family is staying at the same hotel, they aren’t sharing a room. He quickly followed up by asking if he’d said too much. Honestly, they’re radiating energy! It feels like this entire season led them to finding each other, and I’d be completely stunned if they were divorced at the reunion.

Extra Engaged

Now that we’ve exhausted our wedding predictions, let’s really dig into the reunion preview.

I barely recognized Jimmy, the contestant from season six who needed an Epi-Pen – he got a hair transplant and it cost him a lot of money! Apparently, he spent over ten thousand dollars on it.

Okay, so Chris has clearly decided to try and rock a mullet, and honestly, it’s a bit of a… choice. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to be having the desired effect on Jess, which is a relief, frankly!

Brittany was surprised when Devonta didn’t notice her engagement ring, and she asked him about it. According to the show’s captions, Devonta admitted he hadn’t. This raises the question of whether Devonta and Bri had a romantic connection, which would have been a complete shock to viewers.

At the end of the scene, Amber appears to abruptly leave the set. According to Netflix’s captions, she exclaims, “I told you! Don’t fucking do that!” as a blonde woman walks away. The scene then cuts to the audience, who look shocked by what just happened.

• See you on March 11 at 9 p.m. for the reunion!
