Prime Video is growing the cast of its upcoming God of War series. New actors will play characters related to Thor’s family, including a key leader of the Valkyries. These additions strengthen the show’s Norse mythology elements as filming continues on the live-action adaptation.
God of War cast adds Louis Cunningham as Modi and more
Prime Video announced four new actors joining the upcoming live-action ‘God of War’ series. Louis Cunningham will portray Modi, a son of Thor and Sif.
Cunningham will be a main cast member, joining Island Austin. Ben Chapple and Evelyn Miller will both appear in multiple episodes. The series is a production of Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, PlayStation Productions, and Tall Ship Productions.
Actor Cunningham will play the character Modi, who is described as the son of Sif and Thor. Modi is kind and incredibly curious, with a passion for puzzles and complicated challenges. He gets so absorbed in these problems that he sometimes loses track of his surroundings. Cunningham previously played Louis XVI in Marie Antoinette, and is represented by Sequel Management.
Ben Chapple will play Magni, the oldest child of Sif and Thor, in a recurring role. Magni is described as good-looking and adventurous, a skilled hunter who’s popular with women, but he’s starting to feel unfulfilled with his immortal life and wants something more meaningful. He’s very protective of his younger brother, Modi. Island Austin will play Thrud, the youngest child of Sif and Thor, who is bright, curious, fearless, and eager to learn.
Evelyn Miller will return as Gna, the commander of Odin’s Valkyries. Gna is a skilled and relentless warrior, deeply committed to her duties and fiercely loyal to Odin. She’s incredibly disciplined and doesn’t compromise, always putting the needs of the realm before her own.
The show has been renewed for two seasons and is currently being filmed in Vancouver. Ronald D. Moore is leading the project as showrunner, and is also an executive producer and writer.
