Pokemon fan accidentally solves Resident Evil Requiem’s Final Puzzle by “sheer dumb luck”

A content creator who makes videos about Pokémon surprisingly figured out the last puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem. This puzzle was incredibly hard and had stumped players for the first week after the game came out.

Resident Evil Requiem came out on February 27, 2026, and we think it’s one of the strongest entries in the series for a long time. Although the game primarily follows the story of Leon and Grace, many fans have been more interested in a different aspect of the game.

The game’s final puzzle was incredibly difficult, preventing players from achieving 100% completion. Even experienced reviewers, such as Gene Park from The Washington Post who played the game nine times, couldn’t solve it without assistance.

So, the game finally launched, and tons of people started playing, but it was still super confusing. Everyone online was digging through every little detail, trying to crack the code, and honestly, the solution came from the last place anyone expected!

A Pokemon content creator named Gengar Collects surprisingly found the answer by chance. He described it as simply “sheer dumb luck,” admitting a string of unlikely events led to the discovery.

“Sheer dumb luck” leads to solution for Resident Evil Requiem’s Final Puzzle

Just a week after the game Requiem was released, a player named Gengar Collects seemed to be the first to solve its ultimate puzzle, “The Final Puzzle.” In a short video demonstrating his solution, he admitted, “I’m not even sure if this is how it was meant to be done.”

The cause was discovered a few hours later. Players had been experimenting with minor changes all week, but the issue ultimately stemmed from three specific areas that Gengar Collects happened to trigger.

They recall playfully experimenting with the toilets when they first started, unaware that flushing them exactly eight times was actually a key part of solving the puzzle.

During the intense zombie swarm section with the conveyor belt and meat grinder, when players naturally focus on eliminating the zombies, Gengar Collects surprisingly didn’t fire a single shot. They explained they were trying to save ammunition, letting the meat grinder handle the zombies instead.

The final step to solving the puzzle involves waiting 15 minutes inside the meat processing plant. The creators designed this as a deliberate delay, explaining that it took the players a long time to figure out the simple solution: flipping a switch to reverse the production line.

Someone on YouTube called it simply a matter of luck, and the creator agreed. One commenter wrote, “‘Sheer dumb luck’ is a perfect way to describe it.”

After the solution was first found, data miners confirmed it by thoroughly playing through The Final Puzzle for two days. Now, anyone can complete the puzzle simply by following the steps outlined by Gengar Collects.

  1. Wait 15 mins in the meat processing plant
  2. Kill all zombies in the area with the meat grinder, not by shooting or meleeing them to death yourself
  3. Visit the toilets in the restroom area and flush one toilet eight times
  4. Complete the game
  5. Start a new game save (you’ll have Marie’s Doll in your inventory)
  6. Input code sequence into DNA machine

This is the code: Sun Sun Star | Sun Moon Star | Sun Moon Sun | Moon Star Moon.

Once you’ve done that, you can open the safe, solve the final puzzle, and finish the last challenge in Resident Evil Requiem.
