Monarch Season 2 Merch Reveals Full Look At Titan X (Photos)

Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters revealed the appearance of Titan X, a new and incredibly large Titan that could rival Godzilla and Kong. While its origins are still a mystery, the show confirmed Titan X was originally imprisoned in Axis Mundi – a strange dimension connecting Earth and the Hollow Earth – before being released during the attempt to rescue Lee Shaw (Kurt Russell) in the first episode.

Attendees of Toy Fair 2026 in New York got their first detailed glimpse of Titan X, the massive sea creature from Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Fans on the MonsterVerse subreddit shared photos of the figure, displayed at the Playmates booth, revealing the creature’s complete design.

The new Playmates figure shows that Titan X has grayish-purple skin and a reptile-like snout. It features a pointed horn on its nose and spiky ridges above its eyes. Its extremely sharp teeth make it a dangerous opponent.

Okay, so one of the coolest things about Titanus X, as we saw in the Season 2 trailer, is that its eyes actually glow. And it’s not just the eyes – the spines along its back seem to light up too, almost like a warning signal when it’s moving through the ocean. It’s a really striking visual detail that adds to the creature’s already imposing presence.

Titan X possesses four flippers resembling those of a sea turtle, along with eight flexible tentacles covered in sharp hooks used to grab its prey. Its massive size has led some to compare it to a Kraken from mythology, suggesting it could be a powerful opponent for Godzilla, the likely Alpha Titan.

Titan X is particularly dangerous because, as shown in Monarch Season 2, Episode 1, it’s incredibly agile on both land and in water. This means it poses a significant threat not just to Godzilla, but also to Kong, other Titans, and even people.

Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters delves into the origins of Titanus X, revealing events that happened before Godzilla’s battle with King Ghidorah in Godzilla: King of Monsters. Why Titan X Can Become the MonsterVerse’s Most Terrifying Threat

Currently, within the MonsterVerse story, the events of Godzilla: King of Monsters haven’t happened yet. This means Godzilla hasn’t faced his greatest threat: the three-headed King Ghidorah. While Titan X provides a good test for Godzilla, the main villain in Monarch Season 2 still presents a significant challenge for the future ‘King of the Monsters’.

The new MonsterVerse film revealed that Titan X has a close, mutually beneficial connection with the Sea Scarabs – creatures first encountered in 1957 by Keiko, Bill Randa, and Lee Shaw. These Scarabs later haunted Lee Shaw even within his escape pod, proving to be dangerous and lethal to anyone they encountered.

Now that we know how dangerous Scarabs are, it’s clear Titan X could use them as secret weapons against other Titans. Monarch has already demonstrated the massive destruction even a large group of these creatures can cause.

Titan X poses a significant threat in the MonsterVerse, being the dominant force in the ocean depths. Kong recognized this in the first film, wisely retreating when faced with Titan X underwater, knowing he couldn’t win. While Godzilla is capable of battling underwater Titans, Titan X’s immense size could give it the advantage, potentially overwhelming and briefly defeating Godzilla.
