Lenovo introduced a groundbreaking device that combines a handheld gaming console, a foldable tablet, and a desktop computer into one. This new concept builds on the increasing demand for portable gaming PCs.
Lenovo revealed its Legion Go Fold Concept at MWC Barcelona on March 2, 2026. This innovative handheld gaming device can change shape, adapting to different ways people want to game or get work done.
Handheld Windows gaming devices have become increasingly popular lately. Devices such as the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go are leading the way, bringing this type of gaming to a wider audience of PC gamers.
Lenovo’s Legion Go Fold Concept shifts between handheld, tablet and desktop modes
Windows Latest reports that the Legion Go Fold Concept features a foldable screen that grows from 7.7 to 11.6 inches, letting you use it in different ways.
When held as a portable device, it stays folded with wireless controllers connected to each side, looking and feeling much like a classic handheld game console.
Vertical split-screen mode lets you use the screen unfolded like a book. One side can show your game, while the other displays a stream or other content.
Horizon’s full-screen mode expands the display sideways and connects controllers to each side, effectively turning it into an 11.6-inch portable gaming device. This allows for a bigger screen experience without needing to connect to a laptop or external monitor.
This device offers a desktop-like experience when connected to a wireless keyboard and touchpad. Plus, the right-side controller can be used as a traditional vertical mouse, just like the FPS Mode on the Legion Go Gen 2.
Rumored specs and hardware details
The Legion Go Fold Concept will run on an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and have 32GB of RAM. It features a 48Wh battery, and its detachable controllers offer extra features beyond typical button controls.
The controller on the right has a small screen built in. This screen functions as both a touchpad and a display for things like performance data, settings, and custom controls. Plus, it has an FPS Mode that lets you use it like a traditional vertical mouse when connected to a computer.
Here are the currently revealed specifications:

Lenovo hasn’t said if the Legion Go Fold Concept will actually be sold to the public, and the final version could look quite different if it does become a real product. However, Lenovo has turned similar concept devices into finished products before – for example, the ThinkBook Auto Twist Concept eventually became the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist.
On top of this new concept, Lenovo is readying a SteamOS version of its massive Legion Go 2.
