Sparxie is a powerful new 5-star character in Honkai Star Rail, appearing in Version 4.0. She uses the Fire element and is the second character introduced on the game’s new ‘Path of the Elation,’ making her a top pick for players looking to explore this new gameplay style.

Sparxie differs from Yao Guang, who focuses on support. She’s a damage dealer (DPS) who turns using Skill Points into extra damage called Elation, thanks to her special abilities called Punchline and Engagement Farming.
Planning to play Sparxie in Version 4.0? Here’s a complete guide to building her, covering the best Light Cones, Relics, team compositions, Trace upgrades to focus on, and which Eidolons are most helpful.
Sparxie Abilities Overview and Playstyle

Sparxie is a powerful Fire character who focuses on dealing damage. Her abilities center around building up ‘Punchlines’ and consistently attacking while in her ‘livestream’ mode. Her special skill transforms her regular attacks into stronger ‘Blasts,’ initiating ‘Engagement Farming’ – a state that boosts her damage, rewards her with Punchlines, and even restores Skill Points.

Her highest damage output occurs when she activates “Certified Banger” using her unique abilities. While in this state, her regular and ultimate attacks deal extra fire damage, and the amount of extra damage increases with each successful use of her special technique.
Sparxie stands out because she both needs and benefits from a lot of Skill Points. She can use a huge number of them each turn, but her abilities and certain Light Cones help her get those Skill Points back or reduce the cost.
Plus, one of her special abilities turns her ‘Punchline’ stacks into a damage boost for the whole team, making her a character that can both deal damage and support her allies.
Best Light Cones for Sparxie

Sparxie doesn’t have many good Light Cone choices when focusing on the Elation path, but her unique Light Cone remains the most effective.
Best-in-Slot: Dazzled by a Flowery World (5-Star)
Her unique Light Cone is perfectly suited to her abilities. It significantly increases her CRIT DMG and boosts the team’s Skill Point limit, especially when paired with other Elation characters.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited about how powerful this character is! Not only does she get stronger with every skill point she uses, but it actually lets her bypass some of the enemy’s defense when she’s dealing Elation damage – and that stacks each turn! Plus, if she really goes all-out and uses four or more skill points in a single turn, she gives the whole team an Elation buff. It’s amazing!
This works perfectly with her quick attacks and ability-focused combos, making it her strongest choice overall.

Best 4-Star Option: Today’s Good Luck
This Light Cone provides a CRIT Rate boost and increases the effect of Elation after using an Elation Skill. It’s a good option if you haven’t obtained her signature Light Cone, but you will see a difference in damage.
Other Alternatives: Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures / Lingering Tears
Okay, so in Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures, using an Elation Skill gives me a boost to Elation, but it also makes enemies take more Elation damage – pretty cool! And if I build up my Punchline enough, Lingering Tears can give me a big Crit Damage boost. Honestly, both are decent to use while I’m figuring things out, but I know I’ll eventually swap them out for something even better.
Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Sparxie

Sparxie’s best relics focus on the usual damage-boosting stats. Similar to other damage dealers, prioritize increasing her Attack and Critical Rate. Also, make sure to equip relics that enhance her ability to ignore enemy Defense, which is tied to her ‘Punchlines’ ability.
Best Relic Set: Ever-Glorious Magical Girl (4-Piece)
Wearing two pieces of this set increases your CRIT Damage. Wearing the full four pieces makes your Elation damage ignore the enemy’s Defense, and this effect gets stronger as you land more attacks. Because Sparxie gains attack power throughout battles, this set works incredibly well with her abilities and is her best choice overall.
Best Planar Ornament: Tengoku@Livestream
This accessory boosts Critical Damage. If you use three or more Skill Points in a single turn, it provides an even larger Critical Damage increase. Because Sparxie frequently uses many Skill Points each turn, this accessory is perfectly suited for her.
While Rutilant Arena, Izumo Gensei, and Takama Divine Realm could work, they don’t complement Tengoku’s reliance on special moves as well as Tengoku itself does.
Main Stat Priority
- Body: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
- Feet: ATK% (SPD can work depending on team tuning)
- Planar Sphere: ATK% (Fire DMG% is situational)
- Link Rope: ATK% or Energy Regeneration Rate
She has a special ability that turns extra Attack power into Elation, but it has a limit. Because of this, you should focus on maximizing her Attack stat. Ideally, you’ll want a Critical Hit Rate of around 70% or higher, as much Critical Hit Damage as possible, and an Attack stat between 3600 and 4000+.
Best Teams for Sparxie

Sparxie works best when combined with Elation, and her effectiveness decreases a lot without it.
Optimal Elation DPS Team
- Sparxie (Main DPS)
- Yao Guang (Elation Support)
- Sparkle (SP and CRIT Support)
- Permansor Terrae / Huohuo / Gallagher (Sustain)
Yao Guang is crucial for getting the most damage out of Sparxie. She helps Aha use their special ability, Instant, more often and significantly increases Elation’s damage output.
Sparkle is just as valuable because she lets you use more Skill Points, refills your SP, and significantly boosts your critical hit rate. This helps make Sparxie’s abilities smoother and easier to use, since Sparxie uses Skill Points quickly.
If you need units that can stay in battle for a long time, consider options like Permansor Terrae or Gallagher, as they have positive or neutral Self-Production (SP). Huohuo is also a great choice because she boosts attack power and helps the team regain energy.
Budget-Friendly (F2P) Team
- Sparxie
- Asta
- Trailblazer (Remembrance)
- Natasha
This team isn’t the most powerful, but it’s very affordable to create. Asta boosts attack and speed, and Trailblazer and Natasha provide early stability.
Trace Priority

Unlike some characters, Sparxie benefits heavily from leveling nearly all of her abilities.
Start by prioritizing:
- Skill and Elation Skill
- Talent
- Bonus Abilities
Her ability boosts her normal attacks and helps her quickly defeat enemies, making it essential to how she’s played. The Elation ability is also key for dealing a lot of damage quickly and building up a special bonus called Thrill stacks.
After maximizing her Talent, focus on increasing her Elation damage during Certified Banger windows. Then, prioritize leveling her Ultimate and Basic Attack. Although her Ultimate is useful for creating Punchline and dealing area damage, most of her consistent damage will come from her Skill-enhanced Basic Attacks.
Is Sparxie Worth Building?

In Version 4.0, Sparxie is expected to be the top Elation damage dealer, and she’s designed to fully utilize the new features of Elation. However, she performs best when paired with Yao Guang and greatly benefits from SP support from Sparkle.
Okay, so I’m really digging the Elation Path in Planarcadia, and honestly, Sparxie is a must-have. Just a heads-up though – you’ll really want Yao Guang unlocked beforehand, or you’re going to be struggling with your team comps until you get some other good support characters. Trust me, it makes a huge difference!
So, if you’re wishing for Seele, good luck with those pulls! But if you’re skipping her, I’m super curious – who are you saving your Stellar Jade for in Honkai Star Rail? Let me know down in the comments!
